  1. Part of this is that he is (presumably) there to get the ball higher up the pitch, hold onto it until others join the attack and (get ready for the punchline) lay it off to the other attackers.
  2. Not sure why people are looking for conspiracy. Nelson cannot impress enough in training. Why isn’t it that simple? Our 90 minute window is a sliver of the observational scope the management team have.
  3. They will be fairly used to each other in training, but fair enough on the match practice.
  4. Yes it is a quandry as either of these 'forwards' still leaves a massive reliance on our wingers for goals.
  5. That's nonsense, they train together all the time, and if that concept held any water then your first XI of the season should never change!
  6. Both are poor and have different weaknesses. Daka is quick but cannot stick anything. Ayew can stick, but is slow. The squad we have impressively constructed contains few rounded players.
  7. Sorry, for some reason, thought I was in the Nelson thread! Yes, Wout going suits all parties.
  8. You surely are not thinking of Daka?
  9. Why? Seemed reasonable.
  10. Not massively different, as Vardy had been tearing it up albeit at a low level, this guy was clearly surplus to requirements at Feyenoord
  11. Do we?
  12. Only had half a game so far, gets involved, let us give him a chance.
  13. Depends if the club is planning to get promoted this season, as Nelson who should hopefully be our future is not ready to replace them full tine imo. Old ground, but yeah broadly agree with the decline. Do not think youth players naturally replace older pro’s yesterday being a case in point. Panning Marti for not auto starting youth is silly, as don’t you think youth players have a pre-agreed pathway? I actually find this viewpoint infuriating as it’s the same attitude of children not getting their toys on Christmas Eve, and no we don’t know better This is where planning and patience is the order of the day But yeah, it’s all onions
  14. Who in earth is saying that? You are suggesting bias yet easily forgive your own.
  15. For the future of the club, this is true, for this season it's not. Depends what is the priority for the club. Promotion this season or building for the future.
  16. Not a good day for the lad. Just hope he keeps his feet in the ground.
  17. It is but it's also our misfiring poor attack that is bailing out our defence after yet another defensive cock up. Frustrating.
  18. Strange one. An advertisement for and against both older pro’s and youth. We feel uncertain and certainly impotent in attacking areas, perhaps unimaginative.
  19. WBA are just a rebranded (old) Stoke
  20. Monga showing his age
  21. The best things come to those who....
  22. Nobody, but could cope with fixing just the terrible defence for now!
  23. So replace them all with a carbon fibre XI?
  24. World class mondo side
