I’d like to see Braybrook and if fit Alves given a go. Both are better than Wanya and Kacey when 100%, lets get them both into the squad at least and give the team an injection of something.
-
Norwich are decent, however they’re poor away from home. At home they’re unbeaten this year I think. Don’t fancy us at all, perhaps a draw if we’re lucky, but I can see Norwich turning us over today.
-
Who’s scoring our goals? That’s a lot of own Goals for Norwich to score!
-
Is it though? If we fail to get promotion, the EFL will hammer us to the point of us being suffocated, we will have to sell any saleable asset to generate money leaving us threadbare, the manager will likely go too. So we’re likely to end up manger less, might not have a full squad if players and due to potential restrictions we could end up doing a derby and scrambling around towards the end of the window signing substandard players. Starting on minus points, a significantly weaker squad, and a cover of negativity? Just look at Bolton and Portsmouth….. yes the base of the issues are different, but the impact of the problems basically stops you functioning properly, and if you can’t function properly you’re done. There’s no hiding from the fact we’re in major trouble. I always said to the old man one big team will end up collapsing, and I think it’s going to end up being us.
-
I think I’ve accepted that this is the start of our darkest era as a club. The collapse is in full motion, and we’ve nothing but blind faith to hold onto that it might change. The biggest issue is king power, it’s no longer the king power that took over the club, and that’s because unfortunately the person who ran the show is no longer with us, and his son clearly can’t do the job, and he’s surrounded by people who are equally as poor. The poison that developed with the board rooms has seeped into the grass, and the club is ill, it’s suffering and there’s no remedy. The club is on its arse, none of this is conducive to a successful environment. The culture of this football club is rotten, and nothing will change unless the root cause is ripped out, but unfortunately it’s the ownership. We’re about to go flying down the rapids, with no control….. within a few years we could and probably will end up in league 2, because that’s the gravity of the situation we’re in.

What part of that sentence did I say boo them? Are they all immune from criticism? Maresca and co have done a hideous job over the last few weeks…… so much so it’s completely undone the season, and now looks highly likely we won’t be going up. There’s questions that need answering and they’re to be held accountable? There seems to be a want to blame shift by some, some external problem IE the recent announcements. The reality is, we’ve hit rotten form, and the manager hasn’t a clue how to get us out of it, and is completely unwilling to try anything else other than relentlessly try the same thing with nothing but hope that it will suddenly turn around. As I said yesterday, this falls well below the minimum expectations of a fan, or at least it should.

You do when you blow a lead that’s almost impossible to blow. Challenge them to the hills.

Shouldn’t drink beer before posting.
-
The rest of this season will just be us all saying “yea but if we win our next game we will be fine, and Leeds and Ipswich won’t win all of theirs” Until we run out of games to say that in.
-
He has to restructure his board, he needs to have footballing brains around him. But this is where he lets himself down, because clearly he doesn’t think he needs to do this.

Hamza is a dreadful footballer. He’s got absolutely nothing about him at all. He throws in challenges occasionally but you can’t expect anything in terms of good football from him. He’s completely incapable of playing the role Enzo wants him to. Plus, he shouldn’t be anywhere near the side, he shouldn’t be anywhere near the club and he absolutely should not be given the armband when he has been. This was the moment I lost all respect for Enzo, just from a moral standpoint he should have been dumped out of the side and got rid of at the first opportunity. Just part of the big problem within this squad, when you look at it, it’s frankly ridiculous that Hamza has been playing and he’s been given the armband, and a proven leader is left on the bench week in week out.
-
We wouldn’t be in this situation I don’t think. Top should have sold up after the tragic loss of his father. It’s clear he’s incapable of carrying on by himself, the danger is he will destroy the legacy he and his father built, a vision that’s become a living nightmare.

Agree, we HAVE to win the next two home games otherwise as you say, it’s the playoffs.
-
It’s not tosh, it’s psychology… there’s multiple reasons why players can start missing easy chances, and in our case it’s a lack of confidence and belief. We’ve collapsed and in our case it’s up to the manager to inspire the players back into form, not beat them with the same stick repeatedly like he is currently doing. I have absolutely zero faith Enzo will get them going again, because he’s too stubborn and lacks the experience to impart onto his players. Sometimes players can play themselves back into form, but that tends to be when their poor form is their issue, our poor form is circumstantial and we need the coaching staff to step up and sort it out, but the head coach won’t. Incidentally the only striker I can see scoring goals in this set up is Cannon, injury aside the manager appears not to fancy him. Kalechi is usually good under pressure too, but again, injury has largely halted that.
-
You’re right. Could you imagine the 80 minute brigade protesting? They would all have to leave before the banners came out.
-
But it is on Enzo….. he’s the coach, he is the mentor, inspiration and leader…….. how many times have you seen down the years when managers start to lose their touch strikers stop scoring goals…. And then the reverse when a new manager inspires them. No Enzo can’t put the ball on the net, but like I said yesterday, if the players are playing with doubt then they are likely to underperform.
-
Tops bizarre closing statement last season should have been enough for fans to see he isn’t fit to run the club. The problem we have, the majority of our fans are complicit, they will just clap us into extinction and then just say “well it was lovely while it lasted”. There are fans who are more bothered about beating the traffic than football. The situation we find ourselves in at the moment is hopeless. Compounded by a stubborn inexperienced manager and an equally as shoddy owner.
-
He’s a cünt.
-
Still down to Enzo to inspire them. The players can only perform if they believe in the system. Winks is beavering away by himself at the moment, and he’s just getting battered….. he doesn’t need inspiring, but the rest of the lads do. It’s only human nature to lack confidence when you’re not being led properly. The players facilitate the managers philosophy, and if it’s not working, it shows.
-
He’s the one player who I think he truly lost faith in the current system. His body language speaks volumes and he does not look happy. From speaking to people who know him, I don’t think for one second his head has turned, because he genuinely wants to fight to get us up, I just think he along with the rest of the squad have lost all faith in Enzo and his system. He looked broken after that Bristol defeat.
-
My reservations with big Nige are his health, and the fact he doesn’t have Shakey along side him. Otherwise I wouldn’t be against it.
-
Monday is a big one for me. Lose that, and I just can’t think of any justification for not giving another manager a try.

Mads Ricardo Coady Souttar Justin N’didi KDH Winks Albrighton Mavididi Vardy

Exactly this.

Confidence breads confidence, and if the players don’t believe in the system then yes, it can impact their performance. A confident Vardy buries those chances, if you’re playing with a shred of self doubt you miss them.
