According to transfermarkt he has played in every position other than RB and GK, they have him down for 1 game at CB and 1 game at RW Low key forget how solid of a career he has had, a decade in the Prem and close to 300 games is not bad at all, feel when people discuss our academy products he doesn't get the credit he deserves for having such a successful career

Appreciate a response from someone who has watched them more than me, just wasn't seeing anything particularly enticing from a distance Cheers!

But the issue is that RVN has showed absolutely nothing resembling potential to grow, he looks wildly out of his depth and completely clueless I agree with you in concept but right now we don't have a manager with the potential to shine, no matter how much polish you apply, a turd is still a turd. -
I don't really get the love for Will Still, has he really done anything overly impressive other than be young? Reims finished 12th the season before he took over, he took them to the dizzying heights of 11th in his first season and they were 11th when he left with a few games left of his second season, caretaker came in and took 7 points from 9 to move up to 9th. Goes to Lens who have finished 7th, 2nd, 7th, 7th over the last 4 seasons and he has them in 9th with a negative goal difference. His teams also don't score goals, 109 goals in 92 Ligue 1 games over Reims and Lens. 12th out of 18 for goals scored this season and their top scorer is on 6. 11th most goals last season with Reims and 13th most in 22/23.

Honestly Chelsea are everything I hate about football these days Just pissing money up the wall on anyone and everyone, no plan or strategy, then give up on those signings after a season and move on to the next new shiny thing. Then fiddle the books and somehow manage to get away without punishment over and over again In the last 5 years they have signed Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva, Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, and Tosin Adarabioyo just at CB They have also had on the books and sold Kurt Zouma, Marc Guehi, and Fikayo Tomori in that time. Add Levi Colwill and Trevor Chalobah from the academy and you are looking at arguably 12 Premier League quality CBs in 5 seasons and yet they are still looking to throw more money at the position. That's just at one position, and doesn't come close to the sums of money they have spent in other positions with the likes of Fernandez, Caicedo, Cucurella, Chilwell, Palmer, Mudryk, Lavia, Nkunku, Neto, Felix. The list goes on and on and on. Everything about the club just sickens me

16 year old Reggie Walsh played a full 90 for Chelsea last night in the Conference League Semi Final. Acheampong and George (both 19) started too and 17 year olds Mheuka and Antwi came off the bench too. If Chelsea, after spending literal billions on players, can find significant minutes for academy players in a European semi final then the list of excuses for us not to be giving them more game time in an already relegated side become laughable Chelsea give a 16 year old 90 minute in a semi final with players like Madueke, Neto, and Palmer on the bench and we can't bring ourselves to start a 15 year old over the likes of Ayew and McAteer
-
I agree, but I don't think anybody is advocating for him to play 3000 minutes next season Last season in all comps McAteer had 1300 minutes, Casadei 1100. Wanya Marcal 520, Ben Nelson 411 I think it is fairly reasonable to envision he could comfortably play 600-1000 minutes when including cups too, it would be huge for his development and show a real commitment from the club to have him actually playing a part in the first team squad
-
God forbid we get excited about one diamond in the massive steaming pile of shite that is this club right now
-
Yeah it felt like a bit of a coup at the time as he was very highly touted. 27 goals 12 assists in 2692 minutes in 19/20 34 goals 12 assists in 2907 minutes in 20/21 Obviously a lower quality league but I just struggle to see any hint of that kind of player in him these days, he has regressed so much

Agreed, with Fatawu back, BEK, Fatawu, Mavididi with a sprinkling of Alves, Monga and Evans hopefully is the kind of attack that tears the league apart Just need a competent striker to add to it -
Daka really is ****ing useless isn't he
-
Just can't be arsed anymore, the players aren't bothered, the manager isn't bothered, the board aren't bothered, and the owner clearly couldn't give a shit anymore Becoming harder and harder to care when nobody associated with the club does anymore

Barely given Buananotte a sniff whilst we still had a chance at survival despite him being one of our best players early season First game after relegation is confirmed and he starts him despite the fact he won't be here next season Utter ****ing clown, sooner he is gone the better -
Ex Players - They used to play for us

8 goals 3 assists in 1100 minutes now this season, the lack of minutes obviously precludes him from being considered a massive success but that's a great return in the minutes he has had -
Knew things were looking far too competent for Ruud, BDCR on for Mavididi ffs
-
Souttar on crutches can't be a great deal worse than Coady, Faes, or Vestergaard
-
Coady was such a shit signing, wasn't even good enough for us in the Championship and somehow is starting games in the Prem, another one absolutely leeching wages he doesn't deserve, can't wait to see the back of these parasites the squad is rammed full of

Still want Urs Fischer Fell apart a bit at the end at Union Berlin but his record was remarkable They finished 8th in the second division before he took over, got them promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time since it formed in 1990 in his first full season. Finished 11th, 7th, 5th, 4th in his 4 season in the Bundesliga. Progressed from Conference League to Europa League to Champions League season on season. Only spent about 100 mil over 5 seasons with only one signing over 10 mil. In 20/21 lost Andersson, his top scorer of the previous 2 seasons, signed Max Kruse who was top scorer for a season and then lost him to Wolfsburg 18 months later, signed Awoniyi who became top scorer and then also lost him after just one season. Sheraldo Becker was top scorer next and again lost him after one season. So in 4 consecutive seasons the top scorer from the previous season left and each time they kept progressing and finishing higher until it eventually caught up with them. As well as Kruse they also lost Friedrich (starting CB) in January and Andrich (Starting CM) in the summer of 2021. So they went from 7th to 5th whilst losing 3 key players. So he took a midtable second division side to the Conference League, Europa League, and Champions League in 5 seasons, finished higher each consecutive season whilst spending minimal amounts and consistently losing key players every season. His sides don't play particularly pretty football but it is efficient and effective. In 20/21 they had the 4th best defence in the league, 3rd best in 21/22, and when they finished 4th in 22/23 they only conceded 38 goals in 34 games, the joint lowest with Bayern. They play disciplined, rigid, well drilled football.

I looked this up, his longest run that season without a win was 9 games and he drew 4 of them, 4 of the 5 losses were by a single goal, we never dropped lower than 8th in the table and still finished 6th and made the playoffs. Comparing that to this shower of shite is shockingly inaccurate. -

But none of this gives any indication that RVN has anything about him as a manager, your reasons are basically "he has been so incredibly shit that it can't get any more shit", what would he have to do for you to finally throw the towel in on him? -

Genuinely what have you seen in him that gives you any hope to not throw the towel in? I'm not even asking this to be snarky, I just can't think of a single thing that he does remotely competently. We can't score, we can't create chances, we can't defend. There is absolutely no urgency, he clearly has no ability to motivate the players or get them fired up. He has no desire or interest in making changes and trying new things, we had 0.02xg last game and he trotted out the exact same lineup again. -

There is a genuine argument he is our worst ever manager. Using the manager stats on here only Dave Bassett and Frank McLintock have lower win percentages. RVN has us scoring less and conceding more per game than both of those did. Both of those kept more clean sheets and neither had a losing streak longer than 7 in all comps, RVN is on 9 as it stands. Neither went longer than 4 games without scoring a goal, RVN is on 8 league games without a goal. -
Development/Youth Squads 2024/2025 Thread - U18/U21
studentofthegame replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
U18s Finished 5-3 to Arsenal Josh King, Louis Page, and Lorenzo Strachan with the goals I don't really know anything about Strachan, doesn't seem to be much about him other than he is still listed on QPR's website for their U18s, so either a trial or a recent signing Will Daniels got sent off late on too Also of note, highly touted Max Dowman scored a hattrick for Arsenal, 2 of the goals apparently he dribbled from inside his own half to score -

I think comparing what they did with the same set of players is more apt than comparing results with two separate sides Cooper had 10 points in 12 games, RVN has 7 in 17, 0.83ppg vs 0.41ppg Cooper 1.25 goals per game and 1.92 conceded per game RVN 0.53 goals per game and 2.35 conceded per game RVN has 15.46xg and 34.40xga in 17 games Cooper had 14.29xg and 28.61xga in 12 games The only argument you can make in favour of RVN is that we have allowed a little less xga per game (2.02 vs 2.38), but that hasn't translated into anything meaningful as we are conceded 0.43 more per game under him than under Cooper The football was dire under Cooper, but he was without a doubt getting more out of this squad than RVN is I am not arguing that Cooper was the messiah, but quite clearly he was far more competent than RVN is, I could at least trick myself into believing we had a chance in games under Cooper, I can't even convince myself we might score a goal under RVN -

Just take the points deduction, having this dead weight managing the club is essentially a 10 point deduction anyway
