Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)

So is this happening or are Besiktas just blueballing us? Maybe it is true he's been the scapegoat for a lot of wider issues at the club, but that doesn't change the facts: He's not good enough for the top flight should we get back there (not sure we will really) - two relegations now on his CV and he was a huge factor in both of them. Failing to track runners then throwing his arms up to moan at his team-mates is his trademark at this point. That's where the "bad attitude" claims stem from, and he's shown it from the day he arrived at the club. While on his day he's top quality at Championship level, especially when he doesn't have much to do, he's not immune to shitting the bed in the second tier either. Just the other day someone on here dug up a number of embarrassing moments from two years ago. Getting skinned by the Plymouth winger in our loss at their place was a particular lowlight. Of course he did his blame-others routine after that. In hindsight, it's fair for him to feel aggrieved at fans singling him out to boo him and not other wasters like Soumare or Skipp, but sorry, the celebration against Wednesday was bloody ridiculous. Against ten men who are currently struggling to be paid at all, mostly kids, in the second tier he helped drag us back down to? Yeah, he sure showed us! He's one of our club's top earners based on being signed by a board that doesn't have a clue how to negotiate contracts. Not his fault, but still an albatross around our neck from a PSR perspective for someone making appearances from the bench in the second tier. Doesn't seem to be mentoring or encouraging the young guns at all. For all his faults, Choudhury did that in spades yesterday at Charlton, showing it's an individual choice by many of these players. They just choose not to, because they don't give a shit, and that's a poisonous attitude. I don't particularly want him mentoring Nelson or Okoli, because I don't think he has anything to offer them besides tips on how to dodge the barber. Despite this, he's somehow a Belgian international (in fairness, most Belgian fans don't know how he is, either). That raises his value by default. I try not to hate the guy, I really do. There are far wider issues at the club, he is a symptom rather than the disease itself. But there's baggage there that arguably isn't even present for anyone else at this club besides Danny Ward, who has now kindly pissed off to Wales. Knowing we could still get a reasonable fee for him based on his international pedigree, and knowing it's honestly not going to make a huge difference to our defence if he goes besides opening the pathway for Nelson, it really is time for him to accept it's never going to work here and do the right thing. For the pure sake of the fanbase's sanity, I'd even accept a loan. -

The Stop The Boats thing is kind of laughable coming from the most in-land city in the UK, and one of the most multicultural at that. Only boats worth mentioning are the party boat down the Thames, and HMS Piss The League (currently sat in Birkenhead Docks having several leaks patched). I'm surprised people have the mental bandwidth to be angry about it as well as Leicester City right now, it's exhausting enough being a fan of this club without the barrage of Twitter politics to deal with on top. Perhaps it's about time they started giving folks Statins with their £7 beer in the concourse.

Brum are much of a muchness compared to the teams we've already faced. They've done the best of the 3 promoted sides so far, but as Wrexham will attest hype only gets you so far. Not sure you can read too much into either of their positive results against a weird Blackburn side and an Oxford side who will struggle. They looked bad against Ipswich, who have been shite themselves. They're mediocre, but have a few decent players, like every team in the division. They certainly aren't going to steamroll the league like their arrogant fans have been suggesting. Honestly no idea what to make of this game after our first 3. We've been really poor but spawned two wins, while being absolutely found out in the other fixture. I'm not expecting this to be the game where we suddenly "turn up" as I get a feeling we're seeing our actual level at the moment without reinforcements in the transfer market. One positive is that we're still scoring goals in every game, despite our non-existent CF options. Whether we get anything will depend entirely on whether Birmingham take their chances like Preston did or not. I'll shove the fence firmly up my bum and say a 1-1 draw. -
The thing about Seagrave is that it insulates the players far more than Belvoir Drive ever could. It's a nice little bubble where criticism is nonexistant and the chances of coming across a member of the unwashed masses on your way in and out are minimal. Though with the rate shit housing estates are going up in Sileby they might have Deano in his newbuild poking his head over the fence within a couple of years. That was by design, of course, we're all now acutely aware that this ownership are secretive and would rather the fanbase know as little as possible that isn't spoonfed through the KPFC channels. So it made perfect sense they'd want club activities to happen somewhere isolated away from matchday. I'd like to see somebody rock up and pop a Rudkin Out banner in the hedgerow opposite the entrance, but whereas previously you were smack bang in the middle of the city, I reckon a lot of folks would struggle to find Seagrave on a map, let alone survive the A46 junction nearby.

To be fair, about 30 of those 41 shots were Ayew pegging them straight down the Wednesday keeper's throat in the opening game. -
I about spat out my tea when I realised both him and Skipp were involved in our goal - and a fast transition at that. Don't know what to think anymore.
-
Thought he had his best game for us today...
-
Nah but i think I'd rather die than watch him finish above the squad he's largely responsible for

its funny because we're shit and we know we are - the league as a whole is just that much of a cluster**** that we've somehow sleepwalked our way to two wins. Preston should have been the wake up call, but it took Fatawu's screamer for us to look anything like coherent again today. It's going to be a long year and I'll be surprised if we actually roll anyone over. Not that i'm against scrappy crappy wins!

DANNY WARD JUST SAVED THEM A POINT WTF

Boos from the Wrexham faithful, music to my bastard ears
-
YES YES YES YES YES edit - and of course it was motormouth not tracking his runner. Stick that on your podcast
-
Wrexham are absolutely dreadful, if they weren't playing a charity case they'd be 4 or 5 down here.

Oh Abdul you beauty, that was Mahrez-esque Let's be real though, if we get anything out of this we have Jakub to thank
-
It's triggering me to hear Coventry mentioned so much

Didn't know Charlton had signed Richarlison
-
Glad Page is in, glad Silko Thomas and Alves are on the bench, surprised to see Marcal as I'd almost forgotten about him but glad to see someone different. That's about it really. Vomit inducing midfield pairing of Soumare and Skipp again, Vesty will get exposed, we're still woefully short up front. Take a draw with one of the kids scoring for us.
-
He scored 8, but then Luton were absolutely garbage. Derby's style of play seems to suit him more, lots of shallow crosses and cutbacks. Though he got 11 in the Prem the year before that, which as our lot will attest, is harder than it sounds
-
Carlton Morris predictably bagging for fun even in a crap Derby team by the way. 3 in 3 now. Imagine signing an actual striker who is actually proven to score actual goals! Wouldn't be us.
