Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)
OntarioFox replied to jonny_wright's topic in Transfer Talk
PLEASE 🙏 🥺 -
It's a fair sentiment but it falls down when you think that Preston should have catalysed a similar reaction. All that ended up happening was us selling McAteer and being on the brink of losing our two most creative players in BEK and Abdul. You could take a poo on Rudkin's desk and it'd take him three months to smell it.

Kasey McAteer sold to Ipswich - Official

From a purely financial perspective it's a jackpot. In terms of the team ethic however, it's depressing to say goodbye to one of the few players who gave 100% and still be stuck with the majority of the absolute arseholes we want to see gone. Over to you, Rudkin. You have just over one week and £20+ million to play with. -

Scenes when they start playing him down the middle and he bags 15-20 for them this season. -

Really though, it sums up what a shitshow our club is that we've shifted not one but two bad eggs, yet barely scratched the surface of the rot in our squad. -
Could we get actually get relegated again this season?
OntarioFox replied to Bevan's topic in Leicester City Forum
I honestly think that if the young guns are given a chance (Page, Monga, Alves, Aluko, Nelson, S. Thomas, Evans) there'll be enough energy and unpredictability about us to have an ok season. We're going to absolutely rot if we continue lining up with the midfield and backline we have been doing though. Experience matters not a smidgen of a dick at this point when teams are going to raise their game against us and see us as a scalp. I said before a ball was kicked that gegenpress tactics are far more common in the Championship now than they were even two years ago, so we're not going to get the same 'respect' we did for half the season last time. Every single game, teams are going to bite at our heels like Preston and Sheff Weds did, and expose our lack of pace and shit midfield with relative ease. Lose Fatawu & BEK and we're 100% finishing in the bottom third with our lineup from the first 3 games. We can't score, can't control the middle of the park, and concede at least a goal a game. It's a recipe for disaster. -
Leicester to appoint Martyn Glover as head of senior recruitment.
OntarioFox replied to stu's topic in Leicester City Forum
Character matters more than anything right now, and Mr Glover has proven to be terrible at judging it. I just ask myself on an individual basis how many of these shysters and primadonnas Nigel Pearson would have tolerated in his squad, let alone allow to be scouted by Steve Walsh. Of the Glover era signings I can probably count 4, one of which we've barely seen play (Souttar, Hermansen, Fatawu and BEK) who seem to have the right attitude or bottle to succeed. And we might well lose the three of those four who aren't long term residents on the physio's bench. Okoli has shown glimpses too but seems to have a paper-thin mentality most games too. So yeah, Glover has packed the squad with players whose mentality and ego are the epitome of our collapse. He's as much a part of the problem as Top and Rudkin and needs to go on the P45 bonfire. -
Would love to see him turn out in the Champions League one more time, won't lie. Deserves it as a swansong after the career he's had with us, whether he's up to it anymore or not. Though Celtic are doing their best to throw that away before he gets through the door, couldn't beat Borat FC at home last night and need to go to Kazakhstan and win.

The KPFC folks really are like Eric Idle in Life of Brian though, they could be getting crucified and they'd be whistling a tune and mentioning that we were in League One once

'Leicester City's terrible form and lack of transfer activities led to relegation, leaving the club trapped in League One with their notorious Director of Football. King Power have released a statement saying:

Sorry Jeremy lad, you need to be ready for the match

Plymouth are dropping like a stone it seems, getting beat again. Shows it can happen and that we should take nothing for granted.

Premier League 2025/26 Thread
OntarioFox replied to OntarioFox's topic in General Football and Sport
There are absolutely worse teams than Sunderland and Leeds in this division, it's a long season ahead but honestly on first showings I can see them both at least making a good go of survival. Just heaps further shame on us and the way we've fallen, I think a lot of us were using the (very new) concept of an unbridgable gap between the Championship and Prem as a comfort blanket rather than accepting that it might have been piss-poor management and individual attitudes that made relegation inevitable. -
Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
OntarioFox replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
I'll be shocked if we get more than £20 million for him, not because he's not worth more than that, but because we don't have a pot to piss in right now and teams know it. -
I was half-joking when I said we'd be playing to 20,000 or less by Christmas at the back end of last season, but it really does seem like a perfect storm for attendances to drop off a cliff if we follow this weekend up with a loss to Birmingham. I've never known such a large contingent of the fanbase to be this seething with the way we're being run. Preston seems to have been the last straw for another fairly big chunk of fence-sitters. I've even seen open revolt and questioning of the ownership on some of the sycophantic Facebook groups, the sort that were calling FoxesTalk users a bunch of ungrateful weirdos for doing so earlier this calendar year. That's a bigger bellweather for the wider fanbase than i think many of us realise. I can see it now - the ownership panic after another loss this coming weekend and throw a few million at poorly thought-out signings to throw the fans a bone, but it does nothing to improve us on the pitch, or financially, and we remain stuck with shitlords like Soumare, Faes, Vesty etc as nobody is daft enough to buy them for the price we ask. If there is a points deduction, that's it for the season, the best most realists would hope for in that scenario was midtable. With all that in mind, Birmingham is unironically a season-defining game. 3 from 6 isn't a disaster, but both performances were shocking in truth and one of those was against a team that was held together with duck tape and pritt stick. We were easily matched by a League One outfit in the cup and then absolutely outclassed by a bang-average Championship side that happened to be able to name a full squad. If we don't show up against the Brady Bunch - and all signs suggest we won't - the tone is well and truly set for something more akin to Luton last year that our previous championship campaign. It will be an interesting test of the resolve of the last few stragglers unironically saying "we were in League One once" when we're potentially staring down the barrel of a return there. Further protests, planes and chants absolutely required.

Him and Justin are two cheeks of the same arse in as much as they've got the mentality of a nervous kitten. In Luke's case it's been obvious since that horrid first of two performances at Forest in the cup. He was our best player in the final few games last season. But there was zero pressure because we were down and had nothing to play for. He's folding again now our games mean something. It's a hard one for me because there is potential there, he's an academy lad and it's clearly a mentality thing rather than an attitude problem. He certainly doesn't deserve the stick the likes of Soumare, Faes or Winks get. But that doesn't make him any less shit in the circumstances.

Be worse than that, the newly-formed phoenix club AFC City Of Leicester will be starting a few tiers below them at this rate

I wasn't really sure where else to put this besides starting a new thread - often when I'm browsing FoxesTalk there'll be something meta and hilarious that makes me do a double-take, like this well-timed ad during yesterday's match thread. Anyone else got any daft FoxesTalk moments? PS: paging @LVFox as it was your comment,

Turning on Marti at this point is weird by the way, he's working with absolutely shite players, and the likelihood is he's facing pressure externally (agents, DOF) to keep featuring certain wasters on the off chance they get interest before the window closes. They won't of course, because they're shit, but it'll be interesting to see who he chooses once the transfer window slams shut. Hoping it's the floodgates for the likes of Page, Aluko, Monga etc to feature more prominently.

The current squad is what would have happened if Vichai had listened to Matt Mills' 'player power' rather than let Pearson do his thing
