I cant get to this as I have tickets for a 'do' in Brum. The show is called ' Only Fools and Horses'........ The title could be used for both events, couldn't it? !
I think that both Ipswich and Wolves are better teams and look like fighting and working harder to stay up than us ( we have had our moments though ) but that means nothing where the league is concerned....its points on the board that matter and as others have said we are 2 pts from safety at this moment. At home to Brentford this week, means we really do need something from this game to give the players hope as well as fans.
I think the average 'points required' for Champion League qualification in the past is 70. ATM Forest have 47. That means they need 23 more form 14 games ( possible 42 ). It is not a big ask really when you look at the fixtures. In fact their home game against us could achieve that 23rd point. :-(
The times we actually attacked and 'turned' their defence and made them actually defend we looked dangerous. eg, Daka's 'stud-kick ' . We may have got whacked 6,7 or 8...but if we're going forward, we'd all feel better.
I absolutely agree with you. With 10 mins to go we continued to pass it across the back 4 before passing it to a red shirt to defend once again. There was *NO* intension of going for a result at all.
I have a feeling that if clubs give players ( possibly managers too ) loooong contracts then it helps with their Fair Play Finances as the costs aren't linked to one specific year....but I may be wrong.
...And let's not forget that in some of the preceding rounds, VAR wasn't used at some grounds and it was at others! So you'd be offside at Craven Cottage but onside at Barnsley! Surely, the teams want a level playing field? You either Have VAR....or Scrap VAR ( in cup games ) IMO.
Your comment reminded me of 'Mike Bassett, England Manager' when Mike Bassett had no idea how to turn round poor performances and asked a fan..... and to be fair, WE have known where the problem lay, but our 'Mike Bassett' seemed to struggle!
Both Stephy and Fattawu have the ability to run down the wing and cross the ball....but they dont! They run down the wing and then STOP-dead ( gives the defence a chance to organise etc ) and cross with their 'wrong' foot. Opposition teams know how to play against such tactics, over and over and over and over again.
If you had said that 1 month ago you'd have called a Conspiracy Theorist......and just like ALL Conspiracy Theorists, they are proved to be right a few months later!
They should have worked out that Madidivi and Fatawi can only cross the ball with right and left foot respectively...FFS! It is sooooo predictable that Fatawi is forever looking for another Bournemouth Wondergoal....we're gonna struggle if Enzo can't see the bleedin' obvious!
