I think next to Nelson with an actual footballer at left back and right back the defence would honestly look okay with him, don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t want him in the team if we had choices but we don’t. He can’t play next to Thomas because Thomas gets bullied all game, ran past almost every time and vestegaard can’t cover the space. The truth is, the system needs changed, the manager needs changed, the keeper needs changed, the majority of the back line needs changed and the striker needs changed. We have decent wingers and some good midfielders (assuming we manage to sign James and skipp keeps up his recent upturn in form), but the rest of the club is an absolute shit show.

As much as I agree that he is not a great footballer, if there was any actual good movement from anyone else in the team he wouldn’t have to hold the ball so much. The real problem is the lack of movement, which shows in our running stats. The whole team just mopes about the pitch with no urgency it’s embarrassing. Oxford players absolutely hammered us, ran for everything, chased every player and ball down, were strong in the tackle and played like a side full of confidence. We were the complete opposite.

We have to sign a left back. There is surely someone out there who can actually defend that won’t cost an arm and a leg. We also need a keeper who can command his area. This season is a write off now as far as I am concerned. We aren’t getting promoted and we will struggle to even get playoffs but there is enough in this team to not go down. We will probably finish 8-10th after our points deduction.

The weak rudoni shot that went like 5 yards wide, the commentator was screaming like it was heading top corner and then said that it “drifted just wide”. there was a moment earlier on where esse bundled his way past Luke Thomas and according to the commentator it was “a lovely turn” and just many other similar situations.

Everyone’s going to get upset by this but daka has started well today. Had some good link up and getting involved in the game well. Abdul has had some bright moments but has been greedy and wasteful. Ayew and skipp are wasted places on the team. Ricardo has looked awful at left back. Jordan James is class.
