I’m not overly excited by Gary Rowett but will 100% back him. I can see why he wants it, its a free swing and if he could turn it round somewhat, not only would it look very good on him, it would also put in a position where he is in charge of the biggest club in the division. (this year anyway) it’s until the end of the year so it seems the first time ever where the club have actually thought ahead. It looks like if he keeps us up he will get it extended, what does success look like? If you can get these players playing, surely they are far better than relegation rivals? would you be happy to extend if he keeps us up and we limp over the line, or does he have to do more than that. Personally I would like to see a team that is thriving not just surviving, maybe I’m asking for too much?

I think with glover, the linked new tech director at Southampton and the KP obsession points towards Martin. They have loaned Aribo who played a lot under him in prem and he is also unattached. the rowett comments come mean it’s ambitious becuase Martin’s last club was rangers, or it could mean it’s ambitious in terms of plan, bringing in a manager that is high risk. I really hope I’m wrong.

the only positive about the points deduction and manager search is that we are essentially in a relegation scrap. I mean if you can get this team even remotely playing at all, any incoming manager has got one the easiest relegation fights you can have. This will look good an anyones cv and allow them to build easy credit in bank. in a strange way, the change in expectation and objective could make us more appealing. 😂 of course I could be talking bull.
