We had the same back 4 that got us relegate nearly 2 years ago.

Only one thing for it now really if we are actually not short sighted. buy 3 or 4 players that are young, hungry and may have some resale value ready for the championship. We may have an embargo and we may points deduction, we need assets and players that can improve in championship.

If we can get this sort of money for cannon it just shows how beneficial it is to buy young players for relatively cheap with potential. He hasn’t exactly set the world of fire yet we make a profit. I cannot stress how much better this approach is for a club like ours than buying your, vesty’s, Ayew’s, BDR’s, Bertrand’s, Coady’s, skip’s. The list goes on of players that have ultimately hit their ceiling, on the decline, on massivr wages and little to no sell on value at all, not to mention the hunger and desire to deliver and prove themselves. I understand you can’t do this all time and there has to be a mixture but when we already have experienced players in the squad it should be our direction. for a club like ours, I believe it really is the only to remain sustainable and competitive.

If we are seriously selling him for 7m then we are crazy. I would 100% be keeping him for next season unless you can get really good money for him. I think there is something there’s no doubt we sell him and buy and 29yr old who fails and is stuck with us.

I hate to ruin if for everyone but he is not going anywhere. We are stuck with him.

Would I take him back?…. he was not perfect and actually infuriating at times. But yes 100%, he would be our best player and is always a danger of the opposition even if he is having a bad game. We should never have been a position where we had to shift him on.
