So why persist in being a 'supporter'. If you detest the players so much why don't you go down the Tigers. Serious question - why aggravate yourself watching people you clearly don't like.
-
I'm serious about the negativity shown on here by supposed supporters and have been for the years I've been a member - so I'll ask, somewhat sarcastically I admit, is there a new meaning to the word? Sure, Chilwell took the money and left, but he also took a lot of stick from that clique. I think I know why as well and it wasn't to do with his ability. It's always about money - but most of us don't have to go into work with our colleagues watching us and berating us whenever they perceive we've made a mistake. And getting generally kicked, pushed and wrestled by the opposition. Does Thomas deserve to be slagged off on here in the manner he has been? I hold to my opinion that criticism should be constructive - on here it rarely is, because it's a cosy little club for like to just have a go.

It's not about age, it's about attitude. And I know some members know each other, but most of us are 'strangers' on here.

Your comment deserved more than a 'like'.

It's a comparison and he's dead right. You sound as if you don't understand the comparison and the "crying" comment is pure juvenile. In any fight, be it football or combat, you rely on your comrades to play/fight with you. Not piss off somewhere until it's all over. That's the analogy. There's a high proportion of posters/members on here who aren't City supporters - they come on here to take a poke at the manager, the team or to single out a player. That's not supporting. For instance, Fatawu, best player (bar James) at the club. Scores sensational goals but gets called brainless or ineffective when he has a quiet game. You're only as good as the team around you or as good as the opposition allows you to be. He's young so still learning. However he doesn't get a break from his detractors on here. A few years back Chilwell got barracked by a group of 'supporters' whenever he got the ball. I suspect he was glad when Chelsea rescued him. Who wouldn't welcome him back now? Luke Thomas, the guy who gets it in the neck the most, initiated the move that won us the Cup, but no-one respects him for that. I think he's been ruined by the negativity that haunts this club. Maybe it's a Leicester thing. It's always been said that the best supporters come from around the County.

He's getting played, at least. He should be grateful for being picked. Mind you there's a good technical footballer in there...somewhere.

Who do you think is going to replace Cifuentes? This is grin and bear it time. Ever since Maresca pißed off and took KDH we've had a succession of struggling managers working with a unmotivated squad. They can play but they don't believe in themselves, each other, Cifuentes and this train wreck of a mismanaged club. They need a proper captain.
-
I'll take it, and gladly.

Every game we show a bit of skill then allow the opposition to dominate. West Brom even.
-
Agreed. The usual Eeyores on here will find every reason to disparage the notion - the accountants, the osteopaths, the statisticians. But I always got fearful when he was around our goal. The sheer physicality of the man was difficult to cope with. His pedigree is proven and he'll be determined to return to the game. He's worth a punt.

You are a proper well of despair, aren't you

Bar James, Fatawu's the most dangerous player we've got. Jesus is the right expletive. Some who claim to be City supporters are nothing of the kind. They come on here with nowt to do but have a go at their player of choice or the manager. They even have a go at our travelling fans. An away win, a draw and one up against a team doing well. Correction - Fatawu has scored a superb goal. Eat yer words Richmond Fox.

Shame how all that progress has been lost for the Ravens. -
If Leicester City didn't exist anymore

I grew up in a village about ten miles from Leicester and five miles from Coalville. Coalville (surprisingly) didn't have a team in the 1950s although the area was football oriented. The closest moderately successful team were Ibstock Penistone Rovers - who yoyoed between divisions in the Leicestershire Senior League. My grandfather played for Hinckley Athletic in the years surrounding WW1 and also played for Leicester Fosse reserves at an earlier point. I didn't know that until I'd established my connection with City at the tender age of eleven - watching Spurs beat us in the Cup in '61. My good friend from childhood moved to Suffolk and became involved with Bury St Edmunds FC. I've watched them, but like you non-league leaves me cold. Once you've watched Division One standard football and become a fan then nothing else matches. I did follow Everton for a season in the mid-sixties - everyone in my class at school seemed to be United or Liverpool supporters and I fancied some success I could crow about, but it wasn't the 'real thing'. I've followed teams rather than clubs - Jock Stein's Celtic, Busby's Babes, Sacchi's AC Milan and tiki-taka Barcelona. I guess Atletico is my favourite other team because of City's games against them. I like the way they've stuck by Simeone. So, had Leicester City not existed I'd have watched Stanton Swifts as I did every Saturday home game. Half-time they brought the lads a bucket of Camp coffee and orange slices. If you were lucky you could get a cup of what was left over. My great-nephew is (I believe still) on Tottenham's books, but he'll be very, very lucky to make the first team. They live down the Smoke so I've never seen him play. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up. -
You're so fickle. She looks so much more attractive today though, don't she.
-
That's completely true. Perhaps there was an undercurrent of resentment which has been removed with their dropping. Taken him (Cifuentes) long enough to read the dressing room. But Thomas, James, Fatawu and Mav have been on fire since the off.
-
Thomas is having a blinder!
-
Never off!

Nothing to do with the goals. Start saying that if we don't concede.

I'd be warmer if I was.

It shows how professional footballers think like mercenaries more than club players. Another club, another contract, another group of players to hug when something goes right and another bunch to find excuses when it goes wrong. Maybe a return to 'you move to Leicestershire' if you want to play for Leicester. Fuchs had his family in the US and made that work. Jobs aren't as important as family but football isn't a common or garden job. Maybe it's the way football can uproot a player overnight. Maybe there's too many foreign managers (as there are players) who are flavour of the modern game. It might work for the big clubs but there's money to burn which hides deficiencies very well. Really, we're lacking focus and ambition through the club and that's a failure at owner level. Top isn't the person we need demanding excellence or effort from his employees at King Power.
-
That's a brilliant idea. And, if Fuchs succeeds at Newport he can get a lift back when Fuchs becomes City manager next season. 🙂
-
I see Christian Fuchs has taken over at Newport County - 24th in League 2. First game a 0-3 away loss to Oldham and 5 points adrift of safety at the bottom. I'll be watching his 'progress' with a great deal of interest. He's certainly chosen an uphill task for his first foray into management - but I suspect that it's his intention to find out if he can 'hack it' where the going is toughest. There'll be media interest due to his City success and expectation from disgruntled fans and an embattled owner. I always admired his focus, determination and awareness. Just in case someone thinks I'm well off topic, should he save Newport from the drop, he'd be the first name I'd choose to succeed Cifuentes at the start of next season. The club is crying out for a strong and familiar personality in its key position. There's fvck all of that type at City atm.

No sense of urgency or attempting to correct is all too frequent gaffes. It's almost like he's the invisible man in the team.

Millwall 1-0 LCFC, post-match thread

Abdul Fatawu is perfectly capable of creating scoring possibilities for a striker to convert. He's the main (if not only) source of consistent quality crosses.
