Abdul doesn’t strike me as the sort to be scared by a few Neanderthal fans. Yunus did well when he came on and deserves a start but I’m also a big fan of Fatawu. He hasn’t been his best of late but I love the enthusiasm he brings and the effort he shows in chasing back as hard as he does going forward. Still it is good to show the players that if they don’t perform then others will be given a chance. very pleased to see the strength shown for this game.

If they haven’t recovered then we have to use the squad I guess but we have to go as strong as feasibly possible from now on. I could see us starting Daka and using Vardy on 60 again. Likewise ndidi and Yunus. Riccardo makes such a difference when he starts. He just makes the team work and brings class and calmness that we need. I’d definitely have albrighton on the bench unless he is struggling. I was surprised he wasn’t yesterday. I’d have bought him on too. How many times has he been the one to come on and give us that lift and experience when we need it.

I hope he has not got himself injured. Second half he wasn’t moving well.

Fortunately neither team were particularly physical or aggressive as such poor refereeing can sometimes make things kick off. I thought we kept our composure quite well. I didn’t on that one when Vardy was being held as he ran on towards the goal.. That refs performance was local Sunday league standard.

He looked very bright when he came on today. We will need him in the run in.

Agreed but he also needs to practise going down the line and crossing with his right. He is such a talent so imagine what he could achieve if he can work on that. I thought we offered him better support second half. Great win especially with the way the other results went. I’d like to see Southampton keep closer to the top so as to give them interest in that last game.

He has had a standout season to be fair even when we have struggled of late.

I think you are right although it’s a very close call. It depends now on who makes the difference in this final push.

Absolutely but without a good framework and transparency they are not held to account. It just can’t be ignored if the governance is effective. It doesn’t take a genius to see it’s not been working. Getting capable people in is a given but it’s chicken and egg whether that is done first or the governance improvements that drive it forward including appointments.

One thing for sure the board should seek to have a lot more transparency in the club so that roles can be held more accountable at all levels of senior management levels at the board. They need to develop their forward looking process whereby risks are identified and modelled as part of the decision making processes. Performance and consequences, recruitment on and off field regulatory landscape , recruitment, injuries etc should be included so that the board and decision makers have a wider and more complete understanding to make better decisions. Performance against those targets should be monitored to ensure results are delivered. That includes and starts with planning and strategy making short and longer term. I’m sure they have something like this but it isn’t happening effectively.

Partially agree here in that senior management clearly haven’t performed individually or collectively. However the board oversee the collective performance of the club on and off the pitch and if things aren’t working or going in the wrong direction it is their job to get it back on track. They haven’t done this and aren’t immune from criticism. Top is chair of the board.and needs to get in a senior management team that can function together to do that. That includes his own role. He also heads the organisation who own the company that should be pushing for changes at senior level. A bit of a conflict.
