You can see a pattern because it is a pattern, on the whole I think he's a fine goalkeeper but we definitely need him to improve on those weak areas, ideally saving us from having to buy one for a few years yet.

He comfortably gets to it though, he should then be able to get it away from goal or out for a corner, he does neither.

Fair enough, a goalkeeper is always going to be under more scrutiny regardless of academy or not, but I also think people in general should be able to point out weaknesses in his game and it not be linked to bashing academy lads in general.

If we're looking at PSR, surely it's actually of bigger benefit to play Nelson

The previous post is saying some fans love to criticise and blame academy players, and considering you're responding to posts being negative about Jakub (one of which is me), and making generalisations about people loving to blame academy lads I think I'm making a fair point. Feel free to dig out the Huddersfield match thread if you want to see how much I in particular love to blame academy players. I'd love for him to improve on the bad parts of his game and be our number one for the next ten years, commercially it'd be massively beneficial, alongside building a reputation for developing and playing talent.

I don't rate Stolarczyk massively (albeit I think he'll be fine for this season as we have bigger issues that need addressing) and I'm constantly moaning about Nelson and Page being left out of match day squads, seems to be a weird assumption that if you criticise someone from the academy you also want the entire academy to fail.

Hermansen had both of those in front of him last time in this division and was great for the most part. Jakub's trademark parry in to a danger area save against Oxford handed them a goal, and he almost handed them a goal last night, his attempt to save the actual goal was poor as well. I think in general he'll be fine enough at this level, and there's more urgent areas that require improving before him.

Because Stolarczyk isn't that great, not sure Begovic is the answer though, think we'll have to persist with Jakub this season and replace in the summer

It's outrageously bad defending, said it in the match thread it was pure Wayne Brown at Forest in the 5-1, back off as much as possible then dive in, his dive in then seemed to make it harder for Thomas and Soumare to get back
