Tin hat on but it wasn’t a red card. The sending offence offence would have been for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. The ref played advantage to allow Skipp the goal scoring opportunity as so it wasn’t denied. -
Yes, it was lively afterwards. Thompson’s goal is high up on my list of favourite City moments. Ormondroyd was a mile offside for his goal. 🤫

Went in a few boozers before the New Year’s Day game. Would avoid the Benjamin Huntsmen Spooners, even without colours, as there was an edge in the air there. The Waterworks Company round the corner was better. Really liked the Rutland Arms to the left of the station. It was bohemian/studenty but an old fashioned boozer with a great choice of beers. Good name too.

There’s really not much in Lens so Lille may be better if you want more choice and quality. However, talking to some blokes earlier, they said that Lens is a proper football town (they have nothing else, in their own words) and tomorrow is a sell out so the atmosphere in town should be buzzing. They also said it’s safe to wear colours in town.

Ausden Clark leaving at 10:00, an hour after the club buses. I hope this isn’t laying down a marker for the season as it’s great how AC normally leave ample time for wandering around and boozing. -
Also booked the £99 Dover to Dunkirk return crossing. Researching a visit to WW1 history sites close by such as Vimy Ridge to keep me off the Pelforth Brune until lunchtime. Really looking forward to this away day.

Due to a ticket purchase cock up (gutted), got two places on Fosse Travel going spare. Not sure on the rules about transferability (one male and one female traveller booked) so it would be at your own risk.
