That depends on what you consider his value. His value has definitely dropped from what we paid.
In terms of selling, it's down to opportunity. Will we have an opportunity to sell him in the summer for what we're being offered now? Who knows, but I doubt we'd be getting a lot more, so then is it worth the risk? Or even forgetting that, is the money better utilised this window to keep us up?
I think if we want more money than Utd are offering then we could offer a loan with an obligation on promotion at a higher fee than they're currently offering. It takes a risk out of it for them but gets us a better deal financially given we were ok with him playing out the season with no payoff at the end.
There's no real right or wrong on this. We have plenty of recent examples of players that we didn't sell when offers came in and they just leeched away at us and we've regretted it.
Having watched him this season, I'm not convinced at all really. I think some people take a cursory glance at his stats and assume he's doing really well, cos on the face of it it looks that way. But watching him and breaking that goals tally down, it's really not that impressive.
