  1. Aight then, see you Friday big boy
  2. Cmon man, I posted that on this same thread page
  3. I guess I had a right to scratch my head and question the VAR yellow card decision last night. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c5yze64d362o
  4. I have probably spent too much of my time debating on this thread that it doesn’t matter we have a preseason friendly against Burton in our division and I don’t think this in itself is some sort of indictment (the board still have to run this football club and they need to at least get something on the calendar). However, I don’t want anyone to presume that just because I don’t see this friendly thing as a big issue, that I don’t think there’s a lot wrong with the club and that I have absolutely zero confidence in Aiyawatt, Rudkin, and the rest of the gang there to clean up this whole mess. (I would hope that anyone that can identify what my avatar is can at least deduce this. 🤪) I’m much more upset about being in the same division as Burton in the first place, and all of the awful decisions that got us there. I hope that Burton is a good day out (twice) for our fans, and I would rather focus on the very many issues raised about the state of the club by many fans that are a lot more dedicated than I am — issues that they are still waiting on answers for weeks, months, and in some cases years.
  5. Again and again, you guys are complaining about something that does not matter. “It doesn’t happen often” does not automatically make it bad. Give me an actual reason why this friendly all of a sudden becomes stupid just because we happen to be in the same division as Burton.
  6. Ricardo Pepi is a reason why you should always take Eredivisie stats with a grain of salt. He’s fools gold.
  7. Fair, I mean outside of the 60+ minutes of play whenever one of our teams play one of your teams in hockey, I think Canada is a wonderful country. I do not agree with our current regime antagonizing Canada for no reason at all, and you guys are justified speaking up about it. Pochettino now definitely playing the long game with his substitutes… but it’s come at a clear cost now. There’s still plenty of time left in this and don’t forget we’re relying on Tim Ream to hold it down for 90 minutes at a time out there 😬
  8. Turned around and given to Almiron, which is the right call, but unless I’m missing some new law change that doesn’t seem anywhere at all like a correct use of VAR?
  9. Not bad, but not the kind of situation for someone north of the border is in any position to mouth off about. Anyway, I’m thrilled with that first half. Best half we’ve ever played at a World Cup and it looked like the vision we have been hoping we’d one day see in real life with Pochettino. I can only hope Pulisic just needs a rest but if that’s so and it’s not an injury related sub, I think halftime was too soon. He was bullying Caceres out there. USA is already looking confused in the second half when they were in complete control earlier. (of course if it is an injury, that opens up a new, much bigger worry for us)
  10. 42 million Canadians asking each other if it’s possible to win a game at the World Cup
  11. Again, you have no good reason why it is especially important that Burton Albion have to be in a division above or below Leicester City for either team to get what they need to get out of this friendly game. Please just spend one minute thinking about what the main purposes of preseason friendlies are.
  12. You still haven’t given any good reason why this matters.
  13. Why does it even matter what division the opposition is in? It’s a preseason friendly.
  14. Wu-Tang Clan changed the whole vibe
  15. I know we won’t get updates for a while and I still expect City to try to drag this on should putting this on the books after June 30 or some other date be an accounting shenanigan. Still, I find myself checking this thread at least daily. This is my new doomscrolling.
  16. Bridges and Brunson both got into foul trouble, there was a free throw disparity, Wembanyama should have been called for one flagrant foul and very possibly deserved two, the Knicks were uncharacteristically with passing in the back court, Wembanyama had a monster game, and the Knicks still only lost by 4. Knicks fans are obviously aware that this series is and will continue to be a real battle, but feel worried at this point? Do me a favor please, don’t tell Knicks fans how they should feel.
  17. I’m not sure I get this. I get the feeling (from the last manager searches, games against Martin, Martin’s odd style of communicating to the media, and everything in between) that Russell Martin might be one of the most universally disliked managers among the City fan base. A lot of fans young and old, KPFC and “Sack the Board” alike soured on Enzo Maresca. Without passing judgment on Enzo’s style in this thread, we are likely hiring a manager that uses a worse version of Maresca’s strategy and tactics and already has a poor reputation among our fan base. This is not going to go over well; only the freakiest of fetishists will be knocking one out over this hire.
  18. We also had no idea how Nigel Pearson would build a team when he first came along as his only experience was scrapping and/or being an interim manager firefighter. There are a lot of other factors at play in City’s current decision for sure (this new manager might not have as much leeway from the board to bring in his own Steve Walsh, for example) but success and failure come in many shapes, forms, and CV templates.
  19. All of the reasons here why City shouldn’t hire Fuchs and should hire an “experienced” manager are cliches. Michael Skubala and Brian Barry-Murphy didn’t exactly have CVs with a ton of accomplishments as first team managers before they took their respective current jobs and look where they took their clubs last season. Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gary Rowett have much different backgrounds and both of them were equally unsuccessful here.
  20. I think there are equal chances at this point that the club announces an attendance figure 10k above actual or doesn’t even release a figure at all.
  21. This is not a problem.
  22. Put the Larry O on center court at The Mecca… KNICKS GOING TO THE FINALS
