I do see what he means though. We over complicate songs so much and make them unnecessarily long. Look at the Maddison chant … he’s our best player and he doesn’t even think he has one!

Our fanbase is an odd one. It can be decent, we’ve seen it over the years where the KP is bouncing. It just feels like we have to be playing really really well and be high up in the league for it to properly get going consistently. Having said that, I remember in the first full season under Rodgers and it was pretty poor then. It’s down to passion ultimately. We do have passionate fans but just not as many as a Leeds, villa , forest (sorry but we know they have a far better atmosphere) wolves etc. I don’t think people should be criticised for not wanting to shout and scream all game, if they want to support the team in a different way fine. The difference with us is that there is just too many fans that want to do that and therefore it impacts the atmosphere. I’m in the signing section and hate that the ground is as quiet as it is, but you just sensed even before the game Saturday, that there wasn’t the same buzz as Tottenham at home for example. I know we’d lost to united but hardly in poor circumstances. It filters down onto the pitch, but the performance was horrible so certainly didn’t help. I think the singing section has been good but you just need more like minded fans to do it. We don’t have enough, it’s really that simple. Safe standing would be an interesting introduction and is obviously needed. I fear the club will take away the singing section next season. I do think the ongoing frustrating with Rodgers and the soft nature of the team is playing more than half a part I have to say. We are very much a sing when you are winning fanbase. Away from home it can be brilliant or terrible. Numbers we are fine, noise it needs radical change. It’s a mindset in the club.

I find his goalkeeping in general just strange though. He seems to almost try and make it easy for the opposition in 1v1s. The reason he doesn’t want Iverson in goal is because he can’t play with the ball at his feet but he’s gonna have to just **** that off at this rate. Iverson is a very good shot stopper

In fairness you could have had riyad on the wing yesterday and he’d have looked shit. Not the sort of game to judge him in.

Kept thinking it’s just something that we have to accept having this bloke in goal, but the constant mix ups and zero saves means this is something that could send us down. Surely … surely Iverson can’t be this bad?

He just makes it so so easy for attackers to score in 1v1s … why does he turn his body away? Do they even work on this in training?

I think we will at least be very competitive in this. Having over a week to prepare compared to united 2/3 days surely has to have an advantage. For me, it’s down to have we keep Rashford quiet. I don’t think united have been scintillating this season but they have been very effective. It won’t be easy to go there and win, they don’t give up easily and have come back a few times this season after going behind. That said, Leeds took them all the way last week so we should take confidence from that and our recent form. 1-1

In fairness he’s just coming back from injury and it was a really fast paced game in the first half. He’s not played a premier league game before, with completely new team mates. Thought he did well second half, also made a brilliant tackle on Watkins. Good in the air too

He’s a better option than Perez imo. Never really had a proper run in the team either through injury or selection. You feel he’s never gonna be a starter if we have everyone fit though.
