I think a lot of people forget that potter and coopers record aren’t that dissimilar. Before the one brilliant season at Brighton, potter record wasn’t particularly great. Smith is ok but wouldn’t say anymore than that. Looking at it logically, has cooper really failed as such anywhere he’s been? Maybe forest in the third season but you could argue they’d have stayed up … I think it’s a very decent appointment but time will tell.

I honestly think it depends on how we get relegated. If it’s Sheffield united level with zero fight then no but if we show some serious metal and just come up short then maybe.

It’s just nice to have a manager that wants to be here. I did feel with enzo (and I don’t blame him for this) that when all the noise came out around FFP issues and points deductions his outlook changed on the club, again not blaming him for that but cooper will know everything (even if the club have lied again) and seems bang up for it. Fully behind him. The fact he’s already called players, watched all our games, and players liking insta posts of him the club has put out bode well. He’s very well thought of in the game. Not heard a bad word said about him really which is a positive sign.

You can tell from that interview he’s absolutely pumped to get started.

I honestly think it’s a mix of the club doing the £25 charge and then the match day price increase, then being so close to potter and then getting a less exciting manager in cooper. It’s just a culmination of things that are making people overreact. He’s a good manager and it’s a decent appointment.

Something definitely changed. I think the timing is a big thing for them. It sounds like they want someone in this week and the potter/cobernan issues around compensation/ severance pay have sent them to cooper. Although potter thing is a weird one, media getting mixed messages.

We will see if cooper is any good or not … but that win percentage has reasons behind it. Not saying he’s going to be amazing; not saying he’s going to be shit. But there are reasons that forest fans will give as to why he struggled to win games, not all his fault. It’s not on the level of Bruce or wilder.
