We all know the mistakes, but he's correct in that PSR limits ambition. They'll never be another team like Leicester City winning the PL under PSR it's physically impossible now to invest and comply with the rules. Villa could be the next Leicester, they've spent to reach the champions league and missed out and now having to break up their squad to comply with the accountants whilst Man U in 15th can spend £200+ million. Its bollocks, the football leagues and FA need to do more to protect the Morecambes, Burys and Sheffield Wednesday instead of protecting Man U, Chelsea and Spurs from the likes of Villa, Newcastle and Forest.

Hopefully we get rid of all our midfield options, but I'm not holding out much hope. We probably have more chance of Winks going to the PL than Soumare back to France who can't afford his current wage and nobodies buying Skipp.

I see a flaw in your plan, we don't have a defensive beast or midfield dictator in 11 players never mind one midfield player. I don't know much about the Lille season, but from the outside it sounds like Andre gave Soumare a free ride and covered up all his defects and carried him. We don't have that luxury. Who would have thought Soumare would play every minute so far this season, but it shows how far we've fallen.

Yes, if Soumare didn't have his baggage and just joined the club this window I dare say we'd all be quite happy with him. He's head and shoulders above Skipp so far this season.

Yes he was good yesterday, had the most successful final 3rd passes (11) than anyone in the team, by contrast Skipp managed 12 accurate passes in total.

Yes, yesterday we didn't get done in transition, mostly corners and mistskes from our inability to pass thru the press.

Charlton had 20 shots to our 6 yesterday, they got 7 on target and Jacob kept us in the game. I think against Birmingham we end up loosing 4-1 if we're as bad. Winning aerial duels and leadership is the very least you should expect from Vesty. He's our best passer in defence and not a bad player, I just think he's to slow in general and we'll always get done in the transition with him in the team.

Its early days but yesterday the starting line up found it very difficult to play forward thru the press, they only managed once from memory, so I would like them to do this more than once in a game entire. We might have quality, we'll see on Friday, but the current squad will struggle to score goals IMO

I thought Thomas was very weak in the tackle today and was a defensive liability. Jacob, Okoli had good games and Choudhury adds a bit of bite. Vesty is just too slow for such a high line and not keen on him. The whole back 4 and 2 defensive midfielders are very negative on the ball, always take the safe option. The only time in the whole match they were able to pass forward thru the press was for the goal. Page and Monga are learning all the time, Fatawu is very inconsistent but along with Monga and Mavididi the only players capable of a bit of magic. Ayew is infuriating, We look like an average mid-table championship team who will struggle to score goals.

Disagree, Ayew had plenty of opportunities to pass to the wingers today but just choose to hold onto it and wait for the foul. First game against Wednesday 2nd half he could have played Mavididi in who cut inside for a free shot on goal but choose not to. Preston last week, he could have pulled the ball back, to Winks inside the 18 yard line but again choose to cut back and shot from a very tight angle. He's the best we have a present but for someone who holds up play well he never passes, just waits for foul, he needs to do more.

Yes I agree, he just doesn't pass and never looks like passing. I think he's the lesser of 2 evils, and agree with him starting at present. We desperately need a proper striker, Ayew would be good to bring on late when we need to kill the game.
