I'm not backing it, I would start him next game with Okoli in a 442 formation. I just try to offer a balanced view on FT, posters want the manager sacked because he's not picking the youth Aluko or Nelson or starting Daka, Soumare etc... We can vent our anger on this forum, but we also have to be realistic, we could sack Marti tomorrow, but the next manager will also start Faes and Vestergaard, he won't play Nelson just because this forum thinks he should. We've never had any communication from the DOF to say that this season the priority is to develop youth and that the manager will start Nelson, so we can't be that surprised when he's not picked. As fans we're venting our anger at certain players etc but that's just making it harder for the team to perform and will change nothing. Nothing will change until at least Rudkin goes, we should really be venting our anger at Rudkin and Top until they go.

It's not rubbish it's the reality of professional sport. Managers are short term appointments in football, we've had 3 in a year. They don't think about the long term. Its the DOF responsibility to ensure we develop our youth, it was Rudkin that gave Vesty the contract extension not Marti.

It was a wind-up, but he's behind 2 International CBs that won promotion and the championship the last time they were in the league. Its obvious that any new manager, not just Marti would start with the experienced pair. It would appear, Okoli and Faes are competing for one spot and Nelson is back-up for Vestergaard. However much you hate him or his ponderous style, he's reliiable at this level, makes less mistakes than the others and also happens to be the best passer of the ball and one of our biggest goal threats. Nelson was always going to find it hard to replace Vesty in the starting line-up and will have to wait his chance.

Maybe it's not that complicated and Marti has lost confidence in him after that shit show against Huddersfield.

We don't have the players for wing backs, Fatawu cuts inside everytime which isn't good in a wing back. VK is wank, Ricardo isn't a CM, We need to go back to basics 442 and play players in their proper positions, play more direct with a faster tempo and overlap the fullbacks. Daka, Carranza Monga, James, Winks, Fatawu Thomas, Nelson, Okoli, Ricardo Stolarkzyk Left back and strikers are a problem, maybe Aluko at LB but I don't know anything about him. Strikers we could also play Ayew and Evans. We just have a horrible squad full of ***** and no creative midfield spark. The only player that genuinely seems to care is Fatawu, but we'll end up over playing him and he'll get injured.

I've watched the highlights again and Marti was let down massively by the players yesterday, The defensive mix-up between Soumare and Vesty to concede. Mavididi had 2 previous chances from Ricky's crossing, but they were both poor crosses being slightly behind him. There is no excuse for that glaring miss, just has to lift it slightly over the keepers leg. VKs defending for the 2nd, gave up on tracking the winger, I've seen it on FT that he signalled to come off because he was injured, but I'm not convinced he just gave up. No reaction from the team after conceding the 2nd. A question for all those fans criticising team selections, and wanting youth, who can Marti select to replace Soumare, Daka, Ayew, Skipp, BDR from the academy? Last time Page played he got slated on here in a 2-0 win including an assist? The manager has an impossible task and needs time.

It just sums up the teams effort and intelligence. We managed to turn a totally harmless situation into conceding a goal. I'm not sure who's to blame, if he gave a call but Vesty clears without Soumare’s intervention.

We have Nelson and Aluko in defence, but who have we got in the academy to replace Soumare, Skipp, Ayew, Daka, BDR etc... Last time Page played, he got pelters on FT having assisted Fatawu's goal in a 2-0 win. The overriding opinion of Page was he's not physical enough or ready for 1st team football and Silko Thomas isn't doing anything either.

Yep, just look at VK for the 2nd goal, he's not played all year. He had a chance to nail down a starting spot, but he gives up on tracking the winger because he thought the ball was going out. ****ing disgrace and a shocking attitude.

Mainly because we haven't given Marti any chance to succeed with his late appointment, no pre-season, uncertainty over the squad, who would stay, leave etc.... IMO he's being unfairly blamed for the mess at the club, people's expectations of this squad are too high. The club wasted so much of the summer, not communicating waiting until the new PSR period so we could fire RVN. Nothing has changed, the club is still as toxic, the ill feeling of fans towards his selection of players like Daka, Soumare, Faes, when in reality he doesn't have many options. Marti isn't going to turn it around with this squad, he'll end up being forced out by the fans, we'll waste more money on compensation, have a smaller pool of managers that will join. So IMO we should have kept RVN in this toxic environment, wait until all the shit players leave on a free at the end of this season, and then sack him. We could start a fresh with a new manager in June 2026 when he at least won't have all the baggage, and ridiculous wages of Winks, Daka, Soumare, Ayew etc. and more of a chance to build his own team. That's why.

Do you honestly believe sacking the manager will change anything? The players don't care, Daka hasn't scored since December 2024. They're not fit to wear the shirt, an absolute disgrace. Soumare ****s up a simple clearance for Vesty, Mavididi misses an open goal. Shocking

Mavididi and Fatawu need to swap wings, they've had a few opportunities to play a quick cross, but don't because they cut back inside.

It was from the penalty spot, so about right then😂.

I've no idea how opta arrives at a 4% chance of scoring from an unmarked header in the penalty area from a pin-point cross hit a pace. He doesn't need to generate any power, only re-direct the ball either side of the keeper and it's a goal. It's an absolute sitter IMO. A player as shit as Daka might only score that chance 4 times out of 100, but any decent strikers is scoring that 80% of the time.

Daka misses at least one sitter everytime he plays. Millwall as an example or Ayew not running onto Ramsey's cross for a tap-in during the same game. They're shit, no debate.

Agree, but I would also argue our current strikers don't make the correct runs either. I can't remember who it was, but against Millwall at 0-0 one of players played a ball accros the 6yard box that would have been a tap in, but Ayew was only just running into the 18 yard box so it's not a 'chance' When we do make a 'chance' it's for Daka and he misses like he did against Millwall from the JJ cross. Any half decent striker scores that.

Not sure on your interpretation of the stats, in our recent games we've had significantly more shots than the opposition. We probably have the worst shot accuracy in the league. Leic 17 - Cov 11 WBA 11 - Leic 13 Leic 16 - Wrexham 9 Swansea 13 - Leic 17 Leic 19 - Portsmouth 8 Hull 9 - Leic 17 Millwall 9 - Leic 12 Swansea was the only game when we scored more than 1 goal.

Monga may not track back at 16, but he had nothing to do with Thomas not getting goal side for a simple long ball, or Thomas unable to control the ball that lead to Winks giving away a penalty. Thomas has been at fault for the first goal concede in all our losses this season and has to be dropped.

Having watched the extended highlights, we created enough chances to score before Thomas couldn't defend a simple long ball for their goal. Thomas again ****ed up for the Winks penalty and was rightfully subbed. Marti made changes, had all 3 strikers on at one point before replacing Ayew with Mavididi. We still created chances to equalize before Daka missed that sitter right at the end from the JJ run and cross. Marti has to drop Thomas, and maybe give Carranza an extended run starting and now find a replacement for the injured Ramsey, hopefully Page. JJ looked a great player, and has to stay at 8. For all those wanting Marti sacked I'd love to know what more you think he can do with this squad he's been given? The names on paper might look like a strong squad, but the reality is far from that, with confidence still very low from last seasons relegation. Sacking the manager isn't going to change anything IMO.
