Exactly. Unfortunately the club took an age to even get a manager, let alone a marquee signing but there was opportunities in the summer, Fran Kirby for example.

Harder to attract the right player when you are bottom of the league which they will be come January if results go to form. Also a few of the players don’t look happy and in the last 6 months of their contracts, potentially facing a drop down to the Championship. Of the players still out probably only Rantala and O’Brien will make a difference. Petermann struggled in the 2nd half of last season. Tierney has really dropped off, and Draper still too raw to be thrown in. They desperately need another Striker and a leader out there for starters.

Definitely getting worse, I’m heading down to Brighton next week and wondering who next up top, Thibaud, Swaby?! Manager is clueless.

You are right, the excitement would build up and you would still be talking about it at work or school on the Monday. Saturated coverage, too much Football, it’s done to death, I personally don’t care for this XG stat stuff, but the analysis paralysis is in full flow and you’ve got stats people, coaches and all sorts of others telling footballers not to do this and that, over coaching and draining the fun out of it!
