  1. Well he’s left Stamford after years there and people are thinking it could be Kettering due to their budget. Most likely club if he’s staying at Step 3.
  2. Exactly. If anything, PSR should have made this project more likely as they have been unable to piss away as much money.
  3. Ah. Yes it’s not like that at all, but very different times. worth remembering although they have spent a fair chunk, they started from a base of pretty much nothing. Ipswich have spent the same as they did in their first season. I don’t like to see it, but it is pretty remarkable what they are doing so far.
  4. The initial fee for MGW was the same as we paid for Oliver Skipp. the add ons are for if they make Europe etc. And you are just deluded if you think he cost more than our team.
  5. Maddison lived in Ruddington, his house is for sale and can be seen on Rightmove. .
  6. Aside from Hilton on loan from Telford (who has not really played) we’ve not added but did ship some out in Daire (top scorer in the league last year) Ryan Inman and Kai Tonge. Some questioned this but for me none had performed at all this season and it’s not proving a bad decision so far.
  7. Another win today for Harborough against a determined Hitchin. Weren’t at our best but had the more clear cut chances and took it 1-0. 4 wins in a row and up to 7th.
  8. Although they have beat the side top of the league…….
  9. It was £15m. Been widely reported since. £10m cheaper than Skipp.
  10. Made the trip to Stamford today to watch Harborough. Good amount of bees fans made the journey to see us win 2-1 and the drama of a 97th min penalty save to bring home the three points. Quite a turnaround in form with 10 points out the last 12.
  11. It’s a modern tidy ground so does lack the old features such as tired looking flakey paint and old rickety stands but it doesn’t make it a bad place to watch football. Far from it. And improvements are to be added by the end of the season with a new 150 seater stand, further turnstiles and a new catering and directors unit being constructed.
  12. I’m not sure the grounds location is an issue, still very walkable from town, I’m not massively convinced people don’t go as it’s a bit more of an effort for some than it could be. The main reason for the lower than some crowds is the club simply hasn’t been established at this level (or even the level below) but it’s growing superbly. I started watching a couple of years ago during first season at Step 4. Gates were around 200 and 250 was great. Now averaging not far off 500 and to have two sellouts at the Beehive in a season, taking 500 to Tonbridge and 3500 to Reading was unthinkable not so long ago. With a thriving junior section and efforts going into developing the youth academy up to the under 23s the club should continue to grow. But agree, it’s not really a rugby town.
  13. Home fans enter through a makeshift turnstile over the other side, behind the same goal with access around the back of the clubhouse. (A proper one is being installed soon to meet regs required in this league). Away fans then go through the normal turnstile and make their way up to the top of the ground and once they are in that side from halfway line is open to home fans who then on the final whistle move out and away fans leave. It does work but probably could do with a proper entrance at the far end. But until recently there hasn’t been even a remote possibility there would be a full segregated Beehive, so all in good time!
  14. I assume you are referring to me who made you look silly when you claimed Kettering took 500 fans to a league game at St Ives when the gate was 481. And our ‘fat ****’ had your many high earners in his pocket today..
  15. Haha, couldn’t hear your odd lot either, apart from the 5-10 abusive old scruffy ones who were said to have been racist. (Quite likely given the Harborough players reaction during the warm up). Anyway, you came thinking you’d steam roll little Harborough Town and you were rather poor. Maybe the attitude went down to the players.
  16. It only seems 5 mins ago that some thought we’d get Cole Palmer on loan as Maresca had joined us :-D
  17. We can only have 2 PL loans, and we already have them filled. Maybe palace will take Edouard back, but it will cost us. That leaves one to come in as we aren’t shelling out for them (nor should we the fees they would cost).
  18. I found myself at Stoke today with some family, Cannon is never going to be a premier league striker, he has a very poor touch. He’ll do ok in the Championship.
  19. He only ever signed for a game, he lives in Portugal. Might play when over for Spurs commitments is how it was left. I wouldn’t put it down as a PR stunt, just a chance meeting from the manager Mitch in Spurs hospitality that turned into something. And having met him he was a lovely humble bloke and had time for everyone at the Club, and he didn’t pick up a penny.
  20. All I’ve ever suggested is that 400 tickets is more than fair. And based on past attendances and away followings it shows it’s more than fair. Every single one of your loyal followers will get a ticket.
  21. I said league game, do keep up. This was the FA Cup. You have not taken 400 to any league game this season. And a bit of stretch to say under 200 St Ives in the ground when they usually get around the 300 mark.
  22. The gate at St Ives v Kettering was 471.And I think you are getting slightly carried away if you think Kettering Town are regularly taking 400 plus away from home. You were often getting around 600 for home games last season. Having 400 for Harborough is more than fair and every single away regular would have one, plus more if the will was there to distribute like that. I have no scientific method of assessing entitlement so have to go off the amount of plums across social media.
  23. I’m not ‘turning’ on RVN, I’m just not sure how that was any different to a Cooper performance. We were pretty much battered all game and came away with nothing. Great to get the early goal which at least made it a bit interesting until they scored but still. 1 shot on target.
  24. I do find this entitlement from established non league clubs amusing. Bury had the same whine and expected half the ground. As far as I’m aware you have not take over 400 to any league game in recent times so the allocation will be just fine. You may get a few more if Harborough have some left. But the club/police can’t win really as I’d seen Kettering fans on twitter upset at the thought it wasn’t going to be segregated.
  25. We already have broke the rules and got off on a technicality. And we don’t really have an awful lot to show for it.
