No, not a dick. I agree. A lot of teams come here and set up for a 0-0 all behind the ball. It doesn't make for excitement. It's simple really, for things to be exciting, it has to be competitive and there has to be a chance you'll lose. 9-0 wins (a la Southampton) are great for the record books and as a one off, but if you saw that every week you would get very bored very quickly. That said, you can only face what's in front of you and city have more than met expectations this season. 9 points clear with 14 to play. We all would have took that in August. **Correction, 13 to play to avoid upsetting any stattos who were about to pull me up 🤣

I enjoyed it too. In fact, even though it feels strange to say, I enjoyed it more than most games this season. Although it may be alien to some, we don't all go to football to see a walkover or a game won at little more than walking pace. We go for the atmosphere, the anticipation of that equalising goal, all pulling together when we are behind and willing the ball into the net, the excitement. Of course I want Leicester to do well and win every week, but give me a tight 2-1 game with a last minute winner over a training game esque 4-0 win that was over at half time all day long. That explosion when we get the winner can't be beat!

EFL Officiating Abomination Journal 23/24

We have all moaned about refs, myself included. There are good ones and crap ones. I still firmly believe though that if you are relying on a refereeing decision to win then your team haven't done enough. It's that simple. If anyone blames the ref for losing yesterday and not the fact we were well below par and missed a number of clear chances, then there's no hope. We have more than enough quality to beat most of, if not all of the teams in this division, with or without the refs help/hindrance -
Fair point. It isnt a particularly new thing I accept

Genuinely mind boggling. And as a purely financial view, at 35, 40 (at least) quid a pop, doing anything else you would stay get your money's worth
-
Yeah I imagine that is annoying. I was in SK1 and in all fairness I didn't see many leave from our section before the end. But there were rows and rows of empty seats elsewhere round the ground at 85. If it's the traffic argument they make then they need to think about it ...Leicester is a largeish city and at 5pm on a Saturday, regardless of football, the city centre, welford road, aylestone road etc are going to be busy anyway. So you have to sit on aylestone road for an extra 20 mins? So?? Unless you need to be back for strictly/Michael McIntyre or whatever other sh*t is on tv on a Saturday night, what is the hurry? MY personal opinion is that they aren't as invested in Lcfc as others. Don't get me wrong, I have a life, kids, family, work, problems, social events and my life doesn't start and end with Leicester city but for 2 hours on a Saturday (or these days a monday night, Sunday lunch, Friday night) i'm invested, it's an escape I love and have since I was 12, nothing else matters for those 2 hours and I have never and will never leave early.

I don't get it. However hard I try to understand it, it's just beyond me. I really thought we might get an equaliser and you couldn't have got me out of there before the end for love nor money. You are right, there's nothing like a last minute winner or equaliser......and if we had got one, given the atmosphere yesterday, the place would have gone up like we haven't seen this season....why why why would you want to risk missing that?
-
Yes I know we lost and yes I know we weren't at our best today but this thread is about stadium atmosphere and I'll be honest, was in SK1 today and it felt like I was at a proper football match with passion for the first time in quite a while (at home anyway). Very noisy, great support when we were chasing the game. It may be no coincidence that a lot of games where the atmosphere is flat were won too easily. Today we were up against it. Real shame we couldn't get the equaliser but on the plus side it's shows we can make some noise and get behind our team when we want to .

I'd imagine that game is a dead cert for TV and will be moved

Swansea was awful. Very flat. I think that was a lot to do with low attendance and the ease we won though. Better yesterday.

Fair play Hull. Superb pricing. A few clubs, including ours should take note

Official Teams who cannot Mathematically catch us thread
rugbyblue replied to Aus Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
You know.....if you spend Saturday nights and indeed all of your spare time working out mathematical points formulas and studying football league tables for hypothetical situations, the chances of getting a girlfriend are slim at best 🤣 -
Best goal you've seen scored against us

Bergkamp. 3-3 at filbo. He scored an almost identical goal v Argentina in the world cup -
Leave the game alone. We don't need Var, we don't need 5 subs, we dont need an elbow being offside due to a line drawn on the screen, we don't need balls with chips in them, we don't need a 48 team world cup in different countries, we don't need European super leagues and we dont need sin bins....the players know the rules. If you are on a yellow, don't dive in. The beauty of football used to be it was the same game for kids on Sunday parks, dust pitches in Africa or a makeshift wasteground pitch in rio as it was in the world cup final and it became the most popular game on earth. I may be a dinosaur but the only change I think has improved the game was bringing in the back pass rule. UEFA, FIFA f*#k off and leave OUR game alone.

On a serious note. Top of the league since about October. Clear at the top with a good cushion, winning most weeks. I can't see what there is to criticise. If you find it boring, go and paint the spare room on Saturdays and let some new blood get a ticket.....assuming general sale continues. I cannot see any other manager in the list of usual suspects who could have made city as effective as they are at the moment
-
Thank you. Much appreciated. Now sorted 👍

My daughter wants to go to the man city game tomorrow. How do I get away tickets? Do I buy them direct from man city? Assuming no segregation? Any advice welcome
-
Agreed. Swansea weren't great but they pressed us more than most teams and didn't allow us to pass the ball as much as we usually do. They made it scrappy. But yes, quality told

I'm going to the cinema tonight. But I'm going to leave before I find out whodunnit in the twist at the end. You wouldn't do it! So why at football? Especially at games where it's 1-0 or 1-1. A lot can happen in 10 mins
-
There are a hell of a lot of tickets still not sold for this one. I can only put it down to it being a rearranged fixture on a weeknight. Good opportunity for casual fans to make the most of general sale though. Win needed after an average spell. A half decent performance should get us 3 points against these though.....famous last words

General sale can never be a bad thing. I go regularly but my brother hasn't been for years. He's got one for tomorrow through general sale whereas normally it would be an empty seat. Who knows, maybe he will get the bug again. Good work ufs and foxes trust.
