  1. They were in serious trouble when they went down to League One and they didn't have the players on big Prem wages like you still do. Most League One clubs have a player budget of nearly as much as you're paying to your highest earners. It's about 4k a week on average, but sides like Cardiff, the side with the biggest wage bill by far about 10k a week average. The average is about 4k a week. How many players on 4k a week could you get for the wage of your two highest earners? You have no choice but to get rid of the highest earners no matter which way you have to do it. But considering they were supposed to be Prem players that have even failed in the Championship it wouldn't be a bad thing.
  2. The problem you have is because of the shocking overheads of your club and the position you find yourself in your club is worth closer to 40m than 400m. In League One you would be lucky to find a buyer for 40m. A new owner would have to instantly pump more than 40m straight into your club just to keep it going. If you don't keep to the new FFP rules you would find yourself under you would get a points deduction. Will you be getting another points deduction for being so far out of the rules yet again this season? Nobody with more than half a braincell would be happy to pump unlimited funds into a club with such an uncertain near future.
  3. The FFP rules for League One are totally different. You're only allowed to spend 60% of income on the playing staff. You would have to get rid of all of your high earners even if that means giving them free transfers just to get them off the books....if anyone would take them for the wage they would expect, especially for the period they are still in contract with you. Your owners could donate the funds to your club to help finance this, but again only 60% of any gift given by the owners can be used for this reason. None of this money can be claimed back by the owners, but by the look of things it would be needed for.other expenses at your club like the training ground. And remember, your income would be much lower in League One. Without a big gift from your owners you would need a squad of League One players to keep within budget. You wouldn't have the spending power to have 15k a week plus players. Most of your income would be from gate receipts and your attendances will be much lower. Going into League One won't improve anything but will cause even more problems without a cash injection.
  4. Oh dear 😳 Have you got 10 defenders? Could do with a favour here.
  5. In the eyes of the FL the worst thing a football club can do is not pay a football debt. It comes before the taxman and everything else. If you continue to pay everything owed to players and other clubs you have a chance of getting away with it. The biggest problem you have is outgoings and football debts to income. If you end up in League One your income will drop like a stone. These debts would need to be covered. If you're still losing 40m a year you would need an owner with deep pockets and the ability to lay their hands on the cash immediately. Because of this your club wouldn't be worth much. Would Top be prepared to crystallise the big losses or just refuse to sell?
  6. Like I said it got them out of the rental contract for the stadium. That's when we went to Northampton for our home games.
  7. My club went into administration without having unpaid debts to get out of the rental contract with our football ground. The hedge fund that ruined our club started another company in another name and then brought us out of administration. It cost us points and money for the administration process but we didn't have any debts we didn't pay.
  8. Scottish and English football are not comparable. Rangers had to start again against clubs with attendances normally in the hundreds. If you lose your place in the FL you will be in discussion with the upper non league to where you would get to start from. It would most probably be 2 or 3 levels down from the FL It nearly happened to my club so we got a good idea what could happen.
  9. Well played. What a difference having a manager makes especially when shown how Middlesbrough can struggle and putting a plan together to counter with the players available. If Ayew was a horse he would be put down. Not bothered how much money has been squandered on him but is a waste of a shirt. You have shown enough against Middlesbrough away to show you shouldn't be in a relegation battle. The players shouldn't need a big game to decide they need to put effort in.
  10. I am. You're better than Oxford and they hit the woodwork twice. Your new manager seems to have got you playing better.
  11. Their GK is worse. The only reason they're doing so well is they normally control the midfield and the ball. Just hit the ball over their midfield and they struggle badly. If your manager has watched their last 2 games he will set you up to do so.
  12. They have only had one good chance in the last 2 games. You just played well against Stoke and should have won.
  13. Why is it well below average? The only difference to normal is the 3 sides that came down are not as good as you would expect. If you try to play them in midfield they will totally outplay you. They have a very strong midfield but are weak everywhere else. They don't have a striker and their defence and GK are poor. One of Wrights goals against them was funny. Our GK did a long punt. Their GK came for the ball then changed his mind and went onto his line. The two defenders on Wright just let him run past them. The ball bounced and reached the 6 yard box where he put it into the net. Just bypass their midfield and you should score goals. Even Oxford were unlucky against them hitting the woodwork twice.
  14. It's now looking good for you to stay up. WBA are very poor going forward. We didn't even have to get out of 2nd gear against them. They even had the ref helping them as much as he could in the 1st half. Sakamoto had a player go straight through him and the ref bkew for a foul. He then booked Sakamoto and gave them the free kick 🙄 You now have a manager that will get you points. It would be nice to return the favour tomorrow against Middlesbrough 😁 Oxford and ourselves have shown how to play against them. Don't give their midfielders any time. They're not that good in defence or up front. Their GK is very poor. Just hit the ball over the top of their midfield and they let you go all the way. Even Oxford were very unlucky against them hitting the woodwork twice. Good luck 👍
  15. The only difference this season is there's normally 2 or 3 relegated clubs at the top of the table pulling away from the majority of the other sides. The better 2 sides are in 4th and 11th. We would normally be in 2nd or 3rd with our current points total.
  16. How long do you wait for? Until it's too late? It might even be too late now and hardly anything has happened. If the worst happens and you have to start again you would still have a club to support. But it would have to have a different name and your history gets wiped out. There won't be a Prem title or FA cup win. It would be a fully new club starting in non league.
  17. It wasn't too bad. 45 minutes by car. We shared with Birmingham next which was closer but then you have traffic problems. The whole thing was mad. Getting points deductions just so they could break contracts and then paying Birmingham more in rent than our own ground cost us. But one bonus was we ended up knowing more about the law than we did football 😂
  18. Stoke have a massive injury list. Today is a bigger chance of a win than most seem to think.
  19. Point out one comment that isn't true. I enjoy the edge to our games. If you get relegated we might have to wait years before we play again.
  20. Blackburn brought in a good manager and turned things around immediately. You could also do the same.
  21. Certainly. But present form is a better indication than what might happen. How about all the teams within 10 points of the bottom 3? Norwich 5 wins from last 6 Charlton 2 wins and a draw from last 4 Blackburn 3 wins from last 4 Portsmouth 2 wins from last 4 WBA and Leicester a total of 4 points combined from their last 6 games each. Yes a win would change things. But the most realistic target should be getting above WBA.
  22. And I don't think you will catch them. W2 D2 L2 out of last 6 and 4 points above you. If you go past them you will go past others. Can't see Oxford or WBA getting past them. That's how a League table works.
  23. Charlton are 7 points ahead and W2 D1 L1 in last 4 games. I agree you have the players, but they haven't performed for most of the season. WBA are the weak side that you're capable of going past.
  24. You've already shown that you don't understand how a league table works so it doesn't surprise me that you won't understand why I wouldn't want to see supporters suffering from how their club is run after what happened to my club. I will say yet again half my family are Leicester supporters and I watch some of your games with my family.
  25. So why only 36 points? Do you think the team on 36 points that have won 2 drawn 2 and lost 2 in the last 6 will lose their last 15 games? Below this is WBA. 2 clean sheets in last 2 games. Only 2 points in their last 14 games? More like 46 points or more needed.
