I'm a huge fan of the Jam too, and like you it's one of my favourites (Town Called Malice probably the only one I rank higher). But the tone of the song just fits perfectly for where we find ourselves given that football is literally supposed to be a form of entertainment, and LCFC right now is anything but! -

Portsmouth really low on quality, Derby for all they've spent up front not much better to be honest. Such a pity that our players can't sort their shit out at home. -
In fairness I wasn't trying to claim that a club couldn't offer a contract of whatever length they wanted, but that the length over which it 'counts' for FFP has an upper limit which has come in more or less as a direct consequence of what Chelsea were doing. Though on selling the women's team, Birmingham are doing just that I believe.

Tap water is free but I don't see why I should have to drink that when others who like their 'upgrade' get to have it. I may or may not have downed some custard in my time.

I think tea and coffee are both disgusting and wish corporate events and hotels offered something else besides that. We were eating out at a restaurant the other week and they offered small desserts with tea or coffee. I asked if it was possible to have a different drink and was told 'no, you have to pick one'. WTF?!

Let's take a walk on the wild side and leave some players up at corners instead of turning our 6 yard box into a swamp. -
In bold is the biggest concern I have, I'm really not convinced we'd have enough cash in League 1 without that money and without selling more than just players. I like some of the optimism you have about doing a bit of creative accounting, but I've got a hard time believing it. I think we're a lot closer to a Chansiri scenario than some people want to admit.

This looks like a wildly optimistic take. Loans secured against transfer fees I can accept as a somewhat normal practice for a lot of clubs, but it's certainly not normal to take them out against parachute payments (though Burnley did it somewhat recently also). It points to a serious cash flow problem.

The wheels are beginning to fall off for Watford, we could well get a result here... -

About 10 places, I'd say that makes the clubs of similar stature. Derby had also won a few top flight titles, Cov had won a major trophy in that time compared to our solitary league title in the 1920s and League Cup wins. My point is, if you were asking this question around 2010, ourselves/Cov/Derby/Forest were all pretty similar sized clubs. It's not as though they've always been minnows and we've been top tier. -

Took a few days to digest Saturday's game and I think that capitulation against a side with nothing to play for and in rotten form marks a point of no return for this team. Previously I'd seen enough to say on the balance of probabilities we'd be ok, now tilted the other way. The first time in our history we'll be below Lincoln in the pyramid, pretty sobering.

Compare the clubs from their founding to around when SISU took them over and when KP took over here. There really isn't that big a difference. -

I mean for most of our history we've been a very similarly sized club to Cov and Derby, we then hit the ownership jackpot whereas both of them hit the opposite. -
They looked hopeless at the back against Cov today. Got to be going for the jugular here.

Genuinely think we look a lot more up for it on the road because the home atmosphere is just completely rancid. Justifiably so, but that pressure gets removed away from home.
