  1. Ah fair enough, I didn't realise that was the case! We will offer better wages that a lot of those clubs and at the end of the day that's what most footballers care about!
  2. Ipswich paid £20m+ for Jaden Philogene and he's was a very similar profile to Fatawu when they signed him (good Championship record, not too much Premier League experience)
  3. Love the ambition but I can't imagine an Eredivisie player dropping to League One, if the choice is playing in front of 55,000 people against 4 time Champions League winners Ajax or 6,000 at Bromley, I know which I'd pick!
  4. Have we actually had any links (from a decent source) to anyone we'd have to pay a fee for yet? I'm happy with the free transfers as we need to bolster the squad and Chaplin looks like a good transfer at this level, but given the lack of transparency the club has had surrounding their finances over the last few years, I do have a worrying feeling that we may not actually be very active in the transfer market. Every window our manager claims we are active in the market, only to find out the board has misled them it seems. Also, has anyone heard anything about that random goalkeeper someone posted on here? I believed that!
  5. Until Top decides to put Rudders in charge of replacing all the outgoing players...
  6. How did they do the previous 2 seasons? I concede that obviously the teams they manage effect win %, I know this. I was just saying that other managers who have very similar circumstances, I.E the current MK Dons manager, who's managed Rotherham, Derby and MK Dons win more games on average than RM and I didn't include Rangers or Southampton in his 37% win rate in the end.
  7. I think some of the "100+ points" posts on here were tongue-in-cheek! There isn't really a source of positivity other than we've shed some of our toxic players, it looks like we have some good youngsters and surely it can't be any worse than last season!
  8. He managed Swansea and MK Dons, neither relegation candidates and has a worse win % than managers managing in the exact same leagues with identical resources and expectations, I thought it was relevant but maybe it is dense. And to the "manager of the season" argument, RM has never won a manager of the month? Listen, I hope he does well and I'm proved wrong! It's clear he's got some fans, so that's positive and I'll keep my win % facts to myself next time
  9. Yes but that isn't the case?
  10. Well then what's the excuse for all of the managers managing MK Dons sized clubs in League One atm having a better win %? Forget I said anything! Sorry gang
  11. Fine, I'll just do Swansea and MK Dons. Russell Martin is 18th out of 22. Happy now?
  12. I mean other than the Premier League season where he won 1 in 16, he's never managed an unfancied team has he? Anyway, it doesn't matter, me moaning isn't going to change anything!
  13. Any of the 16 managers with a better win % than him in League One would have been an option.
  14. Yes, because Rudkin never would have signed 2 ex-Southampton players and an ex-Southampton Manager?
  15. Managers have had practically zero input in the incomings and outgoings at Leicester since the Brendan.
  16. Out of interest I wanted to see where Russell Martins win % puts him in League One. 17th out of 22 managers, there's a couple who haven't managed a game yet so I didn't include them. This is what I never get about "the best Leicester could have done" or the "we're in League One" brigade, his record is atrocious, even compared to other League One managers. If you're interested, Hendrick Pedersens is the lowest, with 27.6% but 2 wins in 50 at Wednesday will do that.
  17. I think it's still a bit unclear on what we're trying to do this season, develop a younger team and see how we go in the League or whether we're trying to get promoted. If we're bringing in the likes of Ings, McCarthy etc to help develop the young players in the squad, then great but if we're signing them to be active members of the playing staff, then that's not so great. Personally, I don't believe we have a chance of promotion given Russell Martins record, so we may as well go down the development route!
  18. This will bring us to 22.22% of the Southampton squad who lost 9-0 to Leicester brought into our squad. Luckily, thanks to my complete disconnect from the club, I find it funny. It would be nice though to have an explanation to why the club keep doing this? Beat them 9-0, signed two of their defenders. Beat 5-0, signed their manager, CM and goalkeeper.
  19. I'm massively worried by our business so far. I don't think most people realise how bad we are at signing experienced players, since Jonny Evans (signed in 2018/19) we've not signed a single player over the age of 25 who's been successful for us. That's 8 seasons and so far we've basically signed 3 experienced players and a manager, all of whom are on the downslope of their career and we're supposed to believe that Leicester are going to arrest the slide, when we can't arrest our on slide? I think Chaplin will buck this trend but Ings and McCarthy are only being signed because they're famous.
  20. I'm sorry to say but I'm not sure that there has actually been a credible source that Leicester are actually interested in Conor Chaplin. It seems the only report that's come out is from the Football League World by a random 20-something assistant editor, hardly David Ornstein, most likely click-bait that we're desperately holding onto as we've got nothing else! Exclusive: Leicester City plotting £0 swoop for ex-Ipswich Town star Conor Chaplin - the article other outlets have shared. I may be wrong, as on paper it makes sense but don't be disappointed if it turns out to be complete BS.
  21. You'd hope that our £100 million training ground and team of coaches might be slightly more effective than a PT in the Algarve but then again, I've seen the results of Seagrave.
  22. Based on how all of our managers have spoken in the last 5 years, I imagine Martin is still in the being lied to by the board stage. It's not usually until after the window closes that it becomes clear we were never going to sign anyone anyway.
  23. I have a worrying feeling that these rumours was started by that weird foxesofleicester.com, a fan made website that a couple of lads run. So you can't take anything that comes from them seriously, as they will just completely made stuff up, which I'm sure happens on here but Yahoo.com won't publish it on their website!
  24. I'm sure he's probably been mentioned but in the many obscure players from foreign leagues post but Tomáš Bobček managed the feat of being the top goal scorer in the Polish top flight and get relegated, so a move will be on the cards.
  25. I thought Luc de Fougerolles had a decent World Cup at CB for Canada, yet to make an appearance for Fulham and imagine he'd be after another loan, spent last season in the Belgian league so he may be aiming higher than League One.
