  1. Neatly side-stepped by Have I Got News For You. Acknowledged that it happened and that, rightly, it wasn't going to be mentioned. To have not even mentioned it would been glaringly obvious in its omission.
  2. So many new countries in Europe in the last 20 years, many of them quite small, even L1 teams can have international players. Think we had 2 or 3 when we were in L1.
  3. @leicsmac is being neutral. The problem with being neutral is that you get accusations of from both sides of being on the other.
  4. Would rep this x1000. Furthermore, artist that do cover versions of cover versions that sound like the cover version (UB40 and Marilyn Manson spring to mind), cos they're so musically uneducated, they think that's the original.
  5. Long story short; Israel won't destroy Hamas. Not by use of arms. For starters, not every member of Hamas is going to be in the Gaza Strip. Killing them only creates martyrs, and bombing civilians will give ammo to those that aren't in Gaza to recruit enraged individuals from the Arab nations and maybe even beyond. Palestine has paid a heavy price for the actions of Hamas - point made. Why not now extend the olive branch, treat the people in Palestine as equals, and win hearts, instead of hardening them. But no, more people gotta die.
  6. Drop the temple on the Philistines, eh? Classy.
  7. So we're winning the league, but more so?
  8. You can't kill an ideology with weapons
  9. Oh yeah I do wonder what Mr Timberlake has to say though.
  10. He's going to give them sexy back.
  11. Any possibility that the Israeli government ignored this information knowing that it would give them an excuse to attack Gaza, maybe they thought the attack would be less severe? Which would be very ironic, given Hitler did similar to justify his attack on the Jews. This is I admit, wild speculation and therefore probably not helpful, but I do wonder why they ignored this. I also note both sides describing the other side as animals. When you don't see people as human, it's much easier to kill them. It's basically what serial killers do. Thousands of serial pillar on both side, wound up and ready to go . Hamas started this (at least as a physical conflict of arms since previous encounters), but almost certainly Israel will finish it, but at a terrible cost.
  12. In-Car Entertainment Car? That's like saying PIN number.
  13. Probably Gigantic by Pixies. Or possibly the album, L'eau Rouge by The Young Gods.
  14. Now, if you put a picture of someone punching Justin Welby ...
  15. It's quite interesting, and sad, and not entirely surprising, how this has divided the media along political lines with, generally, left wing accusing right wing of Israeli bias and right wing accusing left wing of Hamas bias, when neither side has done either of the sort. I was moderately surprised to see that of all the newspaper headlines (of the ones I saw as I went into local shop) it was The Mirror who got it spot on, saying think of the innocents and show pictures from both sides.
  16. There's a protest camp in the business park outside a company that makes parts for military drones.
  17. Do you think half and half scarves would sell on the Gaza border?
  18. I'd have a word with your dad too, flogging merchandise after a gig indeed!
  19. "I've just been on holiday in Bournemouth." "In Dorset?" "Yes, I can highly recommend it." (Yes, I watched Only Connect last night.)
  20. I do wonder if Russia might have supplied Hamas with equipment to launch this assault, thereby deflecting the world's attention from their own atrocities. It's the kind of thing that's happened before.
  21. Famous Colemanball from the early 70s, "Juantorena opens his legs and shows his class!"
  22. Quite. Whatever happened to "being big" and "rising above it"? Perceived as weakness by most, when actually it's the much stronger thing to do.
  23. I just walked past a busker playing Breakfast in America. I said, "That's Supertramp!" He replied, "Thanks, but I'm not a tramp!"
  24. Can I have a pee please Raj?
