No one is claiming that was some footballing masterclass - simply that we deserved to win that match on the basis of how it went, regardless of if there's quite obvious room for improvement. Whether or not we have "better" players is by the by and an irrelevance in the context of the argument.

Come off it, you're chatting out your arse You could argue Congo's opener was a goalkeeping error if we're going there. Their keeper had to make a litany of good stops - like I said England weren't fantastic, they need to buck their ideas up if they want to get past Mexico but they absolutely were the better side tonight and the stats completely back it up.
