LEICESTER are making a shock move for the young Argentinian centre-half Valentin Gomez. The Foxes hope to agree a bargain deal around £8million for the Velez Sarsfield defender. Gomez, 21, has been a first-team regular for a couple of seasons. Velez Sarsfield finished top of the 2024 Primera Division, well clear of both River Plate and Boca Juniors. Gomez was also captain of the Argentina Under-20s national team, for whom he has racked up seven caps. Now Leicester want to bring the 5ft 11in ace over to England to bolster their push to avoid relegation. Ruud van Nistelrooy has stuck with experienced duo Conor Coady and Jannik Vestergaard as his first-choice centre-half pairing since taking over from Steve Cooper. That has seen Wout Faes and Caleb Okoli dropped to the bench while young academy graduate and England U20 star Ben Nelson is on loan for the season at Oxford United. Leicester found their summer business limited after promotion due to the possibility of a points deduction for Profit and Sustainability Rules breaches. However, with their lawyers getting the Foxes off the hook and Van Nistelrooy in the dugout, the Dutchman will be keen to bring in some faces of his own. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/32445889/leicester-transfer-valentin-gomez/

bit like American politics isn’t it? You just need to be a bum hair ahead in each round and it can look like a dominating win on the cards..
-
Looking like a clean sweep for the republicans - the senate, congress and the presidency..
-
holy cow…. NYT endorses democrats as well…
-
Ted Cruz is looking like he’s kept his senate seat… Dems put a LOT of money in to trying to flip that seat… $100m to be exact..

I’ve seen some negativity a few times with regards to the Harris vote.. I’m not yet seeing any negativity with regards to the Trump votes..
-
Any quotes I’m getting are from the BBC btw… We’ve got another batch of exit poll data, shedding light on the divide between men and women in this election. Not surprisingly, a majority of women are backing Kamala Harris, while men are giving their support to Donald Trump. What is a bit surprising, at least according to these findings, is that the 54% of women voting for Harris doesn’t match the 57% that backed Joe Biden in 2020. Exit poll results often shift as the hours tick by and should be seen as general guide and not a detailed map, but if Democrats have lost ground with women voters compared to four years ago, it would be extremely concerning for the Harris camp.

so a little bit of vulnerability here… I haven’t made that many friends in the states because.. I feel quite different. this is one of the places I get to talk to people who are somewhat similar to me.. but this place has gotten to me quite a bit recently. It’s become quite a hateful place, even if that hate is for the right reasons, if that makes sense? I just don’t think that much hate is healthy for me or for anyone. I really hope this place chills out a bit, no matter who wins, I kind of need it to or a might have to look elsewhere for my equilibrium rebalances.

Ugghh I feel sick. Am I taking this too seriously?. Maybe. But I’m taking it very seriously because I feel like it’s a very serious election..
-
Also, Trump is leading by 11% in GA with 50% of votes counted. Now that MIGHT mean nothing because they could be predominantly traditional republican counties..
-
First sign of something different..

Trump wins Florida which is not a surprise.. BUT That’s not a surprise. What might be a bit surprising – and concerning for Democrats – is that Trump holds a narrow lead in Osceola County, near the central Florida city of Orlando, with 85% reporting. Joe Biden won this county in 2020 by 14 points. More than a third of the population of Osceola is Puerto Rican – a voting group that the Harris campaign has been hoping would decisively back the Democratic ticket after a comedian at a Trump rally made a derisive joke about the Caribbean island.

Tonight feels like a mix between Christmas Eve and the night before a colonoscopy…

my favorite Tory was Tony Blair..

So Joe Rogan came out and endorsed Trump last night. It’s no big surprise, but young men is one target audience Trump has put a lot of effort into voting and it’s one area that has not participated in early voting much. He’s got millions of followers but I doubt it will make much of a difference on a national scale as I’d imagine most of them were planning on voting for him anyway..
