  1. I wouldn’t be sad about that. The longer he goes under the radar, the longer he will be with us and of course the more he has to prove to get those plaudits. I’m sure proper football people are taking note though. Hopefully the top Italian clubs keep their managers over the summer.
  2. This reactionary, “player has bad game, get rid” attitude is just not helpful. For one, having a constant turnover in a squad is not helpful for building relationships and wastes coaching time. But two - it’s quite possible to have a performance that’s not fully reflective of a players true quality, for example when coming back from injury. Case in point, people weren’t happy with Justin playing there when he started deputising for Doyle.
  3. Millwall were always going to have a go. Home cup game, newish manager - this isn’t a park the bus, try to Nick a point scenario. They’ll have another go after the break, so we’ll need to be on it from the start of the second half - and hopefully grab a third to really kill the game as a contest.
  4. Thing is - he’s consistently looked to make those runs into the box when he’s played for us. Periera’s goal the week before evidence of that.
  5. He’s had days to prepare knowing he’s going to play - and no doubt training has also centred around that, which helps no end.
  6. I hate it when people blatantly jump on a bandwagon…
  7. @fuchsntf - you make a good point about injuries and fans expectations which led me to seeing if there’s any data on this. That led me to this article, which within it highlighted that; Their September 2022 “European Football Injury Index” report states that there were 495 injuries in the 2018/19 Premier League campaign, followed by 562 player injuries in the 2019/20 season. However, that figure then shot up to 938 injuries in 2020/21. And then in 2021/22, that number went up further to 1,231. So between 2020/21 and 2021/22, there was a 30% increase in the number of injuries in the Premier League. https://footyaccumulators.com/news/premier-league/which-premier-league-sides-have-been-impacted-the-most-by-injuries-so-far-this-season#:~:text=Their September 2022 “European Football, went up further to 1%2C231. I then went to find the latest report complied by Howden Group; https://www.howdengroupholdings.com/sites/g/files/mwfley1156/files/2023-11/8794_Football_Injury_Index_V1.pdf It’s hugely detailed, yet well presented and very interesting if you like this sort of thing.
  8. I was hoping one of the 21 might see this and check back to rectify the situation - it’s only a page back.
  9. Yeah, but then some ass came along and made it 21… why would you do that?
  10. Feel like there should be a La Manga reference in there somewhere.
  11. I’m not sure Cooper gets a shot at anything more attractive to be honest. I know there’s rumours linking him to Palace - but that jobs not vacant yet and could be a poisoned chalice. At least with Birmingham there’s money and ambition, plus a reasonably low and achievable bar in terms of expectations to start with. It’s also a job close to where he’s based… although the downside of that is it’s still Birmingham.
  12. Why would you even judge him against Ndidi’s level when Ndidi has had numerous seasons at the top level and is a full international. It’s arguable even Ndidi himself shouldn’t be playing for us this season, that his ability could court a much higher level. So why expect an understudy, that’s still learning the game and is with us to develop to show that level?
  13. By implication you’re saying the Chelsea youth coaches, the Italian youth coaches and Enzo are also blind. You’re also ignoring my point - a lot of football people see something in him, which on its own is no guarantee to success. But with the sheer numbers involved at youth level, to get this far he must have shown a level of reasonable quality - and I’m happy to rely on their judgement over mine given I’ve not had the requisite viewing time to make a clear judgement myself. I’d also suggest that by proxy, these coaches assessments that have resulted in the lad coming up through the youth system and competing for a position in a Premier League quality team puts in doubt your suggestion he’s not a natural footballer. Indeed, if he’s not, he’s done well to become a learned footballer.
  14. They desperately need to get to the break and regroup a little. It’s still a talented side, it’s just that the quality at this level is such that if you dip, you get found out.
  15. Say want you want about Klopp - I do enjoy watching Liverpool play when they’re in top gear. It was restless wave after wave.
  16. The player rumours going around can’t help his position either.
  17. Is Howe in trouble? I can see them getting turned over next week as well - he probably would then.
  18. Must have Triple Captained Salah in his FPL team
  19. We matched these for 20 minutes in pre-season didn’t we! 😂
  20. What a cross that is mind.
