  1. No idea, but equally… it can’t stay 1-1 can it??? There’s going to be at least one more twist… surely? Edit: Easiest prediction ever!
  2. Dúbravka’s been quality.
  3. Can guarantee Nunes is responsible for at least 3 of the none converted xg
  4. Could you imagine the debates on here if we had Nunes!
  5. This game is part of the round of games in late December - so there’s some justification for this one.
  6. Wow - out of nothing! Class from Gordon and Isak
  7. Newcastle in trouble now!
  8. Think we’d be looking to play him centrally - one of the advanced midfield roles.
  9. So Chelsea’s entire youth coaching setup, Italy’s entire youth coaching setup and Enzo have all missed that this guy is “not really a natural footballer?” Some selected sections from his Wiki page; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesare_Casadei Representing Italy in various youth levels, Casadei received the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot awards in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cupwith Italy U21. Rated as one of the most promising Italian talents of his generation, Casadei has been described as a well-rounded and modern midfielder
  10. Add in Liverpool’s uncanny knack of ballsing up critical passes in the final third - it’s crazy that they’re top!
  11. Not for long. Nuno’s honeymoon won’t last 😉
  12. Must be at least 10 minutes to add on for VAR!
  13. But Liverpool always give you a chance or two whilst it’s 0-0.
  14. Given this is part of the round of games in late December… there’s some justification
  15. I can see why the referee gave it, it felt like a late desperation lunge. Then the question becomes, is there enough to overturn… I’m surprised the referee didn’t take a trip to the monitor.
  16. No-one watching this game? Not as if there’s little to talk about!
  17. One of the things I would say to the doubters - trust Enzo. This was a guy he wanted, in a similar way that he wanted Mads in goal, Vesty at centrehalf, that he wanted Mav on the left, Kasey on the right, followed by Fatawu - and let’s not forget Winks pulling the strings in the middle. He even wanted N’didi playing as an 8 when plenty began the season saying Wilf couldn’t play there… and look how that’s played out so far. Given how shrewd Enzo’s judge of a players been so far - I’m surprised how many are second guessing him here.
  18. Well I don’t know, because there were an equal number of comments comparing him to Nuge, so god knows what his DNA actually contains. As long as he has no relation to Elvis Hammond (Ankle), that’ll do for me.
  19. He also frustrated the hell out of us though too! Prior to the FA Cup win, he had managed to get us to advanced stages in both domestic cups before pissing away chances - albeit against strong opposition - with what felt like negative, uninspired tactics. He did similar in Europe - we were disappointing against Slavia Prague bowing out in the early knockout stages the first year, and then failed to get through the Europa League group stage the following year. Getting to a Semi-Final of the ‘unknown’ consolation European competition that followed may seem to some a solid performance overall in the end. And yet, I remember feeling deeply disappointed with our home performance against Roma and in particular with Rodgers for not trying to secure an advantage at home whilst we were on top given how difficult the return leg would be. We then have to consider how we got to these European competitions… and how it could have been a completely different story if we had held our never when out in front… not once, but twice! We should have been playing on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s not Thursday’s - with Rodgers selecting Ryan Bennett 5 times too many for the first of those collapses. That similar has happened for Rodgers when at Liverpool is curious - but could also be a coincidence - you may draw you’re own conclusions there. And yet when it comes to the main competition he did with us - The FA Cup - it is ironic because this is the one situation where it felt like the team didn’t play with cowardliness - especially when it came to the final. Every player to a man stood toe to toe, looking to trade punches with the opposition, we looked to attack - something that had been anathema to Rodgers normal approach in these type of situations. It therefore leaves me in a huge quandary in terms of Rodgers time at the club. God knows we were ****ing horrible under Puel and that Rodgers managed to get us on track and heading in the right general direction to begin with. And yet, when it came to the business end, the moments that separate the good from the great, he seemed so staggeringly lacking of competence on so many occasions that I think; yeah, he did some good things for the club, I can’t deny that… … but he could have done so much more! And that includes falling on his sword when he knew he’d lost the motivation for our job.
  20. You’d have to say, despite being a league below, we could and probably should consider ourselves to be inside the top 15 of teams in the country. Some of those teams ahead and around us will bow out at the third round stage, potentially strengthening our chances of winning the competition. It’s also a non-seeded draw based competition, allowing for a degree of luck in terms of passage through the competition, therefore… Shouldn’t we actually give the FA Cup a go, at least for now? Of course I don’t mean playing a full first 11 - but play a strong side, offering development opportunities where appropriate with a view to getting ourselves through this round and seeing where things lie after that?
  21. Amazing really - he was getting pelters first 25 minutes on the match thread and yet just 2 hours later he’s now the second coming of Vardy! Clearly it was a pleasing performance and it’ll do his confidence the world of good, but he needs to continue to work and improve his game.
  22. This has come about quite quickly (the recall and then potential onwards move), right as the window opens. Might we be looking to get this over the line this week?
  23. What’s going on - that’s not West Ham / Everton / Newcastle?
  24. 4 games in 10 days. 10 points out of 12. Enzo deserves a lot of credit, he’s managed the period excellently.
