  1. They did update the handbook - 1st appendix, page 533, point 3 😉
  2. How’s this for official? https://www.premierleague.com/news/3858986 “At the 2023 Annual General Meeting, Clubs agreed to bring forward the date for the submission of audited Annual Accounts for Clubs forecasting a loss to 31 December (in accordance to Rule E.50.2)”
  3. The issue I have with points deductions is they will never be applied in relation to the season the offence relates to. You can’t calculate a profit / loss in the season your in.
  4. Oh - and key point. We as a club could struggle with the Premier League P&S rules if promoted - the permitted loss for a season in the Championship is lower, I believe. It might, therefore, be prudent not to be so vocal in social media areas on these matters.
  5. I do think Everton have a case to get at least some of the original 10 points back. I’m pretty sure, from reading the Premier League handbook, that liquidation of a club only carries a 9 point penalty - suggesting the deduction of 10 points excessive.
  6. To me, it looks like the Premier League have failed to consider the easiest solution in terms of punishment - a financial one. Overspends could simply be fined at x20 the amount - with that money, over a certain threshold (say overspends above £1 million), being paid to the remaining 19 clubs (Premier League keeps the 20th share for ‘admin’). Overspends under the threshold would still be fined at x20 but those monies would go into grassroots projects rather than the clubs. That would allow clubs to flirt at the margins of FFP without major sanction. It would also allow, in theory, to spend well above the cap should they wish, but at a significant financial cost.
  7. Audited accounts were required by 31 December this year. Previously these were required by 31 March. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12408661/amp/Premier-League-introduce-new-rule-following-Evertons-FFP-charges-season-clubs-recent-history-overspending-submit-accounts-THREE-MONTHS-earlier-rest-flight.html I’m a little annoyed, because you didn’t even check.
  8. I thought the accounting periods had moved so decisions to punishments could be taken in-season - hence the recent announcements.
  9. Games fallen off a bit
  10. That is a problem with ‘system’ managers in that they quite often build squads that fit their system - but that often leaves you with like for like substitutions and little tactical flexibility. Look at Ten Hag today as another example of that. Yesterday did make me think back to one of the best performances I’ve seen us pull off with 10-men; the draw(?) against Newcastle, at home, in the Championship. If I recall correctly, Pearson decided to keep two up front, deciding instead to go 3 at the back and we continued to dominate. Edit: It may have been a draw because I tried to look it up. Wellens got sent-off on 30 minutes.
  11. Yep, especially in midfield - which is why I’m not against Casadei because he’s at least a unit. I know nothing of this Sensi we’ve been linked with except that he’s 5ft 6’ - and that doesn’t exactly sell him to me.
  12. He’s put in some excellent corners has Mr Porro. Lovely pace, whip and curve.
  13. I was saying at half-time… what do we do here? My hunch was Mav right, KDH left, in a 4 man midfield. The lack of striker on the bench was an issue - even with 11 vs 11 you’ll likely want to change Cannon at some point. I feel the McAteer sub ended up just reducing his options further still.
  14. When you have him and Eriksen - combined age of about 90, you just can’t play as open as United are. I know the Utd fans hate McTominay, but at least he has the legs to get about the pitch a bit.
  15. Onana may as well have been in the Ivory Coast 😏
  16. 😂😂😂 Rashford just runs - he’s like a FIFA player when the D-pad gets stuck.
  17. I saw some tweets questioning why the game was stopped and and what have you and it just made me think “why don’t people know when to keep a thought to themselves.” I guess that rag has provided me my answer!
  18. Classic fan zone… go on someone, put up the ‘Hovis’ clip 😂
  19. Yes… but I think he errr’d not making a change. Up to 60 we looked comfortable enough, but had begun to get stuck in our own half a bit - a ‘freshen’ was needed, although what that substitution would be was tough - because I’d agree we didn’t have many appealing options on the bench. The other disappointment was how we blatantly switched off immediately after their substitution. I was about to post in the match chat “important moment to keep focus here” because it’s always a possibility - I just didn’t expect it to be straight away.
  20. He’s done well to miss that from there 😂
  21. Everyone is - it’s a no defenders game.
  22. Werner doing nothing to dispel the memories of Chelsea past so far 😂
  23. It’s not just this game though. He’s also has a habit of making 3 stoppages without using the full 5.
