  1. 100%... just remember how we looked against QPR back in January when QPR were broadly mid-table. Of course it was a cup game but surely it's an indicator that we are a heck of a lot stronger than most in the Championship
  2. Isn’t Deepdale the ground where you can buy a Butter Pie?
  3. Please don't... 😐
  4. Feels familiar?
  5. Three of the four around the old ground are still open - The Princess Royal on the south east corner closed down, which was the most miserable of the four anyway. It’s about a 20 min walk from Griffin park to the new ground. There is a really decent large pub right next door to the new ground - The Express Tavern, which I assume must be rammed on match-days. Or if you walk a few minutes towards the river there is a newish Fullers pub called One Over the Ait which is pretty large and nice. The other option is to walk down to the river and head west. Within ten minutes you’ll see about four pubs on the north bank - The Steam Packet, The Bell and Crown, the City Barge and the Bulls Head. If it were me I’d go for one of those four - especially if it’s a nice day and you can drink outside, personally I prefer the Bulls Head but it’s the furthest away.
  6. Manchester United came onto the pitch today before the post horn gallop - which felt a bit off to me. Did anyone else notice that motd edited it to make it look like they came out after us?
  7. The lady at the ticket office said to me earlier when I’d just changed seats: “I hope you like your new seats, but if you don’t you’ll be able to move again at any point during the season”
  8. After I don’t know how many calls yesterday I’ve just got mine sorted. Was put in a queue at No 26 and spoke to a real human being about 35 mins later. A word of warning for those moving other people’s tickets: I was moving my brothers ticket too as we sit together. He should’ve emailed the ticket office to say he gave his consent (but didn’t). Thankfully I phoned him on the other line at the same time and he gave the ok that way instead. If he’d not have picked up It’d have all been in vain. 😬
  9. This is magnificent!
  10. Of all the wonderful goals in more recent years I’ve seen I don’t think I’ve ever seen one as good as the Heskey-Claridge effort against Manchester United in 1996. Unbelievable... (1:39 in on this clip)
  11. I’d love to think it’ll be different when officially released... but I can’t see it being a fake - it was in an Adidas shop rather than a generic sports shop.
  12. Yes. I was pretty surprised myself. It’s the Adidas shop. I thought about starting a new thread, but thought that’d be a bit rich as I only post about once a year... I think the sleeves are terrible
  13. It’s on sale in London...
  14. I live five minutes from Griffin Park (and will ignore the comments about a dire part of town...). Last Saturday I took a break from my seat in SK4, and went there to see them beat Stoke. Like us they played an almost entire B-team, with just one defender being a first choice player. If they play the same team against us we'll have no bother at all - reasonable enough Championship players but horribly disjointed. The general view seems to be that the first team is very good and plays some tidy football, and hasn't ended up in play-off positions by accident, but I can't see us losing. The ground itself isn't that great - the atmosphere is hindered by the vocal home support being behind one goal and the away support at the opposite end. The positive is that the away stand is great - a two tier with terracing on the bottom and seated above. The away support often sing "S**t ground, no beer" so I assume it's a bit dry in the away end. But as most people seem to know it's the only ground in the country with a pub on each corner and it'll be our last chance to go there before they complete the new stadium which looks to be be almost ready ahead of schedule.
