  1. Yes, I think so. I was speaking to one of those that ran the stuff outside before the games for the kids, they'd also mentioned that there is also an internal understanding that the 12 o'clock kick offs are going to harm attendances. But the club can't do anything about it and essentially are dictated to by the league.
  2. Great win, probably quite fortunate, but we were resolute in defence and broke where we could. Still dont look very sharp and there's still some chemistry to be gained as we struggled to string passes together. I think Liverpool are going to struggle this season, so good to get into the habit of beating those around us, which is how we picked up most of our points last season. Its an absolute relief to be off the mark!
  3. Yes, and sorry you do have to take things with a pinch of salt. But to be seemingly nowhere near touching a football pitch in over a year makes you worry even if she can return. Which is horrid considering her age.
  4. Its really worrying for such a young player to really struggle to be match fit for such a long time.
  5. Interesting injury update on Mouchon in an article just posted by the club in preparations for Sunday, this quote is from Passmore “She is unavailable at the moment. It’s just left with the medical team until she is fully available for selection. We’re making sure that she’ll be fit and ready to play when that opportunity arises.” That last line indicates to me that it's not really an injury, but maybe a choice and we're just keeping her training for if she then decides to play? Could be reading too much into it though. Draper has a knock on her knee and Goodwin still in the physio room, but dont think there's any indication of what her injury is, maybe covered previously.
  6. Everton home game kick-off time has been moved to 11:55. Still can't see the logic in moving these games to lunch!
  7. All of those are wingers aside from Mouchon, Hlin and Kaczmar. And some of those might be able to fill in, but you couldn't rely on them. Draper you could include in there as well, but we won't know how much her injury has taken away from her. If we lost Mouchon it leaves us with Hlin as our main striker and then a still very young youth product as back up. It doesn't make sense to let her go, unless, like I say, they've downed tools. I am not hugely fussed about loosing chossenotte. I'm surprised, probably mainly because I didnt even know transfers are still open for some foreign leagues. I also didn’t really think that badly to her either, no better or worse than what we already had in the grand scheme.
  8. I get what you are saying, but we're already on such a shoestring squad as it is, still could do with more faces in, rather than out. But I guess if they have downed tools, they are no good to us anyway
  9. Mouchon played against LCL in the last pre season friendly, which was also post miquel sacking, so maybe not?
  10. Just sae this too. Let's see if Mouchon also goes. Was surprised to see Chossonotte go, let alone Mouchon, but seems like it's where it is heading.
  11. Yeah, ive reserved judgement on Mouchon for that reason, we've just not seen anywhere near enough of her. Her and Hlin maybe seem like similar players in being quite physical, I'd hope Mouchon has a bit more pace about her. I also find there's a lack of a leader in there, Thibaud is the closest thing we really have, as I felt like Janice really didnt have any impact on the game at all due to the position she was in. I think at the end of the day, what we have is what we have at least until January, so we have to make the best of it and that's still just to be figured out. On the subject of chossenotte and mouchon then, if they aren't injured, do we think they're on strike after Miquels sacking?
  12. I agree, we look like we've not had a pre season. I really hoped Eiriksdottir would put herself about a bit more than what she did, her physicality and first touch are her key traits, but to make use of it she needs it into feet and then runners around her, she just didn’t really have that and was often expected to chase the ball. Her disallowed goal was an incredible finish and does show what she is capable of. What's the deal with Mouchon though? I wasn't aware she was injured again I am really intrigued to see what our starting 11 will be this weekend as it's clear that wasn't our strongest.
  13. Not really to be honest, but she is capable of playing CB. I think its more to do with match sharpness than anything else. Man U were just faster stronger and sharper than every single one of our players.
  14. And I get that and I agree we should be spending more. But we're just not a big spending club and it seems more that were probably going more for the Brighton approach than a LCL approach, which is fine as neither are more likely to provide results than the other. I also really just think there's a lot of toxicity bleeding through from the men's team support into the women's, again I get why, but they are not 2 of the same.
  15. We're not a big club though, that's like saying that the mens team should go and spend £100m on someone because that's what the big clubs do. Yes it's a fraction of the amount, but the scale is completely different. I couldn't agree more that investing in the team will reap long term benefits and stop others from running away with the league. For whatever reason, that's just not the business model and it's something we have to live with unfortunately. Not saying it's right, but it's not how the women's team operate.
  16. Agreed. We were poor, got better in the second half, not a lot, but looked more organised at least. Hoped we'd avoid a hiding, but unfortunately couldn't. Our passing was the most worrying part for me, but I am hoping its more of an issue of the team getting the gel. Passing accuracy is not good (66%). Leitzig was abysmal, which is very surprising. I'd say all 3 of the first 4 goals could have been avoided/saved. At the end of the day, it's an away day against the top 4, which no one would have expected us to win anyway and the performance was probably on par with some of the performances from last seasons away games. Definitely holding out on judgement for a few more games yet.
  17. I feel a cricket score coming...
  18. We look incredibly shakey, no one seems to want to take the lead and be strong. I've just had to have the same conversation with my daughters U8's team, would expect a bit more from these.
  19. Im not expecting much at all in terms of a result for tomorrow. We know we've not got enough quality in the team to compete with Man U, which is a shame, as though we don't have a great win-rate over them, we've competed well most of the time. I really would just like to see us be really well defensively organised, be hard to break down or beat. Give us a foundation to build on, similarly as to what we did last season, had one of the best defences in the league up until Christmas. We shouldn't be aiming to match what we did last season (obviously we want to improve), but it does feel like a season the we just have to get through unscathed, if we can.
  20. Side note - does anyone know if the WSL games are still going to be shown on YouTube? I believe it was a case that any games that werent televised were on YouTube, but haven't Sky got the rights to all the games now? Or am I mistaken?
  21. I think there is a clear advantage for those teams that aren't getting a full backing by their parent clubs to just be independent & separate entities. If im not wrong, I believe Everton is one of those turning it around, once not backed by the club, but the new owners have come in and "sold" the club to a subsidiary, but puts money into the club in the form of investments, but still allows them to make independent decisions. It might not be Everton I'm thinking of, so dont hold me to that too much.
  22. Emma Sanders doesn't believe there will be any more signings for us. Off to bed it is.
  23. Taking a leaf out of the Men's playbook, a tactic underlined and highlighted, called... bare minimum
  24. Looks a little bit like Bonmati, lets hope thats not where the similarities end. Seems like Tottenham used her as a 10 and/or a winger Come on, one more...
  25. If you dont laugh, you'll cry.
