Obviously we were never going to sign him, but it’s still gutting that he’s probably going to West Ham. A few years ago we were probably a more attractive option…

Unlike some I wouldn’t be massively opposed to Ayew as a back-up squad player as we need cover in wide positions. But Palace fans think he wants to leave because he wants regular first team football. If we’ve promised him that, that would be very concerning.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Well I've always said that Dr Dan Plumley is the world's leading authority on PSR and that his view should be taken as more valid than anybody else's... -
The word 'make' is used very broadly in a legal sense - it can mean just opening an attachment on WhatsApp, which is what Edwards did. It seems that a couple of the images/videos he opened involved younger children, hence they're considered category A. I feel a little bit sorry for him - he didn't attempt to store any indecent images on any personal devices and he didn't forward anything on. He even asked his friend not to send him anything illegal. All he did was open some images sent to him via WhatsApp, and that was enough to convict him.

Who do you want for next season in the PL

I'd say we're two short in attacking central midfield. Agree on everything else, though - including your point that the looming points deduction is probably severely hampering us in the transfer market. -
It has been raised numerous times.

They’d never attack him in Qatar, so were obviously waiting for him to travel to somewhere where they felt able to launch a strike. It will be interesting to see how Iran responds to this. Sinwar will presumably be the next target.

Oh you sweet summer child…

If we’d already signed a couple of exciting young attacking midfielders, Ayew might be regarded as a useful squad addition and nobody would be too bothered. But we’re less than three weeks before the start of the season and it’s starting to look like we’re yet again struggling to get deals over the line. A link with an exciting name fizzles out and a link with an ageing journeyman emerges, and it all starts to feel wearily familiar. We’d better hope that a lot more is going on behind the scenes than is being reported in the media.

This is like the scene towards the end of Downfall when all the Nazi soldiers are just sitting around taking a few last swigs of booze before they go somewhere quiet to shoot themselves. Except rather than the Red Army a few hundred yards away it's Jordan Ayew and his agent...

We're still trying to claim the PL has no right to pursue us over PSR, which is delaying things... https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/13163559/leicester-lodge-appeal-after-challenge-against-premier-leagues-psr-charge-rejected-by-independent-commission -
We all go through rough patches occasionally.

I almost regret mildly taking the piss out of him five years ago, which resulted in him instantly blocking me and thereby denying me access to his, um, 'unique' take on the world...

New name, new name!! Oh, it's a keeper....

Ilias Chair is not going to jail. His crime has now been downgraded to a 'misdemeanor' and his punishment is community service plus a tiny fine. That doesn't necessarily make him the right choice for us, but any worries over him doing jail time can now be discounted. -

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
ClaphamFox replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
I was listening to the first few minutes of this when my train was pulling into Paddington this morning. Somehow I accidently skipped forwards and it landed right in the middle of Ric's rant about our lack of transfer activity. I was laughing out loud at one point, which was good timing as a few seconds later I discovered that the Elizabeth Line was down and I was going to miss my 9am meeting with my boss. However by that point I was far more bothered about our failure to land Albert Gronbaek than I was about any of the projects I'm working on... -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
ClaphamFox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes, but the consensus in the media seems to be that we avoided this second breach by receiving £40m+ from Chelsea for Enzo and KDH. And that perception would have been given to them from the club. The BBC reported on this here. And even if we were still marginally in breach for the period 2021-24, there is no way we'd get an eight point deduction for the second breach: first, because the amount of the breach would by definition have to be very small given the club's confidence that there wasn't even a breach for 2021-24; and second, because when second breaches cover some of the same period as a previous breach, the punishment for the second breach is reduced to reflect the fact that the club has already been punished for part of that period. This is why Everton were only docked two points for their second breach. There is simply no way we could get two eight points deductions for separate PSR breaches. -

You're right - we don't know yet. The perception in the media seems to be that we avoided a breach by selling KDH, which I assume has come from off-the-record briefings by people at the club. But yeah - we won't know for certain for a while yet. But some people seem to be under the impression that we might get a -16 point breach when the commission rules on our existing charge, which seems highly unlikely given that we won't know about end June '24 until next spring. -

I expect we'll vigorously challenge the second charge on the grounds that we were a Championship club when the accounts were due to be submitted. That might come down to how carefully-worded the rules are - if our lawyers can identify any loopholes, we might be able to get that charge dismissed. The punishment for breaching PSR will come down to how much we've breached by and what arguments we can make in mitigation. But we might not find out about any of this for a while yet as we're still legally challenging the PL's right to even charge us over PSR. -

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Luton got two penalties - 10 points for transfer irregularities and 20 points for failing to complete a solvency agreement imposed by HMRC. And the 20 point deduction was so harsh because Luton were repeat offenders as they’d gone into insolvency three times in 10 years. A very different case.
