  1. Ah. Your reference was clearly too subtle for me...
  2. What we've spent this season has zero bearing on this story because the period under discussion ended last June. This is what Jordan Blackwell wrote in the Leicester Mercury yesterday: "LeicestershireLive understands that City’s 2022/23 season accounts will be released publicly towards the end of this month. They made losses of £125.5 million for the first two seasons of the three-year cycle, meaning that they need to make a profit of £20.5 million not to exceed the £105m limit." So we need to have made a healthy profit for the year 2022/23 to avoid being in breach. I'm personally very sceptical that we achieved this. If you think otherwise, please reveal more - lots of people would love to be reassured about this!
  3. Hasn't Ndidi been studying business and management at DMU while playing for us? Maybe he can be our saviour on the pitch by pushing us to promotion and our saviour off the pitch by getting us out of our FFP mess? If he does both of those things they can name Leicester market after him and erect a statue of him on top of a 300ft column in Town Hall Square as far as I'm concerned.
  4. It sounds like our defence will be similar to Forest's Brennan Johnson defence. However the general consensus is that they will receive a six-point deduction, so maybe that's what we can expect too. In the podcast Tanner also said that there is already a growing view in the game that these rules aren't working in the way they were intended and are unfairly punishing aspirational clubs such as ourselves. They will likely be rewritten at some point, but probably not in time to save us from some kind of punishment.
  5. He said that he expects us to breach the rules but the club is ‘quietly confident’ that we will be able to successfully plead mitigation.
  6. Everton admitted it in the hope it would result in leniency. Look how that turned out…
  7. On today’s Big Strong Leicester Boys podcast, Rob Tanner basically said that he fully expects us to be in breach of the rules and that our hopes depend on pleading for mitigation because we’ve made more of an effort than other clubs to comply with the rules.Unsurprising perhaps, but not exactly reassuring…
  8. So have we gone from hoping Forest get whacked by FFP to hoping they get away with it because that might set a precedent for us? 🤔
  9. This question keeps coming up. I wouldn't describe them as reliable because they do publish a lot of rubbish, but they're also often first to stories that turn out to be true. But all this particular story is saying is that other clubs reckon we might be in breach. I personally find it highly plausible that other clubs are whispering about our finances as our actions in the transfer market have revealed how close we are to a breach. At this stage we don't know whether we're actually in breach (and how much by) or whether we just managed to stay within the limits. That will only become clear when we actually publish our accounts for the last financial year.
  10. I'm sorry, but this is extremely naïve. Yes, the Sun publishes a lot of stuff that turns out to be nonsense. But they are also very often the first to stories that turn out to be true. Their record at digging out scoops is second to none. All the story says is that other clubs believe we may be in breach of financial rules. I think this is highly plausible. That doesn't, of course, mean we are in breach. But anybody who confidently dismisses the story because it's in the Sun is burying their head in the ground.
  11. The problem with the Sun is that they have always broken genuine stories alongside the rubbish they publish. They probably get more scoops than any other paper, but they also regularly publish speculative stuff that has little basis in reality. Which category does this story fall into? We don't know at this stage, but at the moment the story seems to be based on the 'suspicions' of other clubs rather than any concrete information. Although I'd have preferred it if the club had issued a robust denial of the story rather than refusing to comment on it.

  13. That is not going to happen.
  14. Yet another player injured between the Friday pre-match presser and the game the following day.
  15. No Ricardo in the squad 😢
  16. Maresca preferred Nelson when Vestergaard was injured recently.
  17. From what I’ve heard the portrayal of Richard Taylor in the film is grossly unfair. But given that it was a dramatisation and not a documentary, I’m not sure how much of a case he has.
  18. Andy Impey Paul Konchesky
  19. This would be a huge gamble. QPR have won three out of their last five games and only lost one. Sunderland have lost their last three games and only won one of their last five. If we underestimate QPR tomorrow and leave key players on the bench, it could backfire spectacularly. However, I don't think Maresca will do that.
  20. Talking of which, Chris Williamson was on the Today programme this morning. I can’t believe I’d forgotten how utterly insane he is. He’s mad as a balloon - I mean, completely batshit crazy. How did he ever get to be an MP, let alone a member of the shadow cabinet? It’s a reminder of just how far Labour has come from the utter shambles it was just a few years ago.
  21. Oh Christ. Is that fedora-wearing, despot-loving, antisemitic twat back? What a day for democracy 🙄
  22. Hamza may well play in defence, but Ricardo will surely keep his place alongside KDH in the other number 8 role? He's the best we have available for that position and we need our best team out. Unfortunately we lost the privilege of resting key players for QPR during that ludicrous final 10-15mins at Leeds.
