People around him love him. Our own Gary Lineker has given him a platform on several occasions and said he’s a top manager. Pep (even if he was taking the piss) loved him. Even Wes Burns partner replied to a fan saying “don’t worry Martin will be gone soon” with “I think he’s top, fans are fickle” If those around him build him up then he’s bound to clap back at the press and people he doesn’t know. He’s probably a really nice bloke if you know him, which means he can fool people into supporting his ways.
