Guilty as charged. However, this squad should be challenging for promotion. I don't know how much the Blackburn team, that beat us so comfortably, cost, but I'm quite sure it would be nowhere near the £100m+ that we had on show. The problem is that the squad is unbalanced, especially with Ramsey out and tactically we are easy to play against. Morale and commitment is through the floor. We have players being paid millions that are going through the motions and marking time which is unforgivable. Add to that, the fact that the powers that be thought that we could get by this season without a proper striker and here we are. But man for man, there are very few clubs that can match our squad. This makes the fact that we are so woeful all the more infuriating.

I hadn't thought of it like that. Let's just stick with the usual defensive titans that have served us so well for so long then. Good plan.

Whilst we are booting our recruitment team (and rightly so) it is worth pointing out the role that Steve Cooper might have had in this. I am convinced that Ayew and Skipp stink of Cooper.

I went for Soumare. Skipp is the most popular choice and in terms of pounds to ability ratio, it's hard to argue against, but we have to put these signings into context. The damage had already been done by the time we got to Oliver Skipp. If we had got any of the earlier ones right we might still be a Premier League team.

The frustration should be directed not at the player but at the club who once again have let us down by sending us into a season long gunfight with three pea shooters. To bring in a striker even worse than Daka and Ayew takes some doing.

People are grossly over-estimating fan power.

And their transfer fees. There are tens of millions of pounds sauntering around the pitch there. Sickening.

I think there is. First of all, we are too passive and tactically absolutely toothless. Also, we are not a team we are a collection of individuals. The defence is not a unit, it is so disorganised. The midfield is not a unit. They don't play together. I know we have been terribly let down time and again by the board and recruitment that has been off the scale (and not in a good way) but tactics, organisation and motivation are Marti's responsibility.
