Legend for me. He and Shakey saved us from the shame of becoming relegated champions in 2017. Good luck Wilf -

James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)
murphy replied to SouthStandUpperTier's topic in Transfer Talk
Didn't he get an England call up and then get injured? edit - Yes he did. May 2022. -
This feels like the buzz you get when you've actually made a stellar signing. Close the door on the way out. Next.

Players you disliked, but reluctantly rated...

A lot of people are not getting the bit that you have to rate the player not just dislike them. Chilwell for checking out when he knew he was going to Chelsea but still collecting a pay cheque, being a bit of a wimp, scared to take a throw in, unnecessarily and overconfidently relishing the prospect of beating us and just being a bit too in love with himself. Soyuncu for feigning injury at Spurs, being rightly dropped for it and then sulking for the rest of the season as we struggled on to relegation with Calamity Amartey in his stead. Various meltdowns, such as Bournemouth. Mahrez for going on strike, badmouthing us and claiming that he lost two years to us as if he were being held in a cellar somewhere rather than being paid very handsomely to play football as per the terms of the contract the had signed and failing to recognise that we gave him the stage. Perez for being Perez and the most frustrating player I ever saw and one that seemed to find it very difficult just to stay upright. I've broken the rule myself here as I definitely never rated him. That miss v Chelsea! A weak link in a very good team who's greatest contribution was an accidental pre-assist in the cup final. Perez again. Deserves mentioning twice. -

You mean apart from going on strike? -
How excited are you for the new season?
murphy replied to daddylonglegs's topic in Leicester City Forum
Can't wait! I'm especially excited to see all the new signings paraded at half time. -
That can't be right surely? When he first came here he had just been rejected by Wolves and by Everton and we were a championship club.
-
Trouble is we need Premier League (or equivalent) buyers for Championship level players.

Stephy Mavididi (no real rumour, some clubs "interested.")

Do you remember when Vardy was injured and Perez was preferred up front to Nacho? He absolutely stunk the place out then and whatever position he played. Those were the days. When our only real problem was a Perez shaped weak link. -
He's a right back isn't he?
-
And probably for a good while after. Even now, just the word 'Akinbyi' makes my eye twitch.
-
Did he play up front or on the wing?
-
Most of this 'gutless' squad have literally done it before. Cheer up and get on board HMS Piss The League.
-
We could just bank the money, accept a weekly larruping and save it for the next time we get promoted and have a proper war chest. Should have done that last year really.
-
But you must have an impression of other clubs. For instance Brentford or Brighton, perennial no marks, now respected as established Premier league clubs. It doesn't mean you care about them. We were respected. We were the best of the rest. We were trophy winners. From big kahunas to laughing stock in the blink of an eye through our own mismanagement.

Bring Coady home. (please 🙏)

Don't like him, questionable commitment and he's crap, but nowhere near top 5 worst ever signings.
