Born and Raised in Leicester · Follow The Wolsey ★Please Like ★ Share ★ Comment ★ To keep us in your newsfeed★ The Wolsey building was finished in 1923 and was the home of the renowned Wolsey Knitwear Company. The company was founded in Leicester in 1755 by Henry and Ann Wood making it one of the oldest textile companies in the world. In more recent years the building was home to another local knitwear company Sangra Textiles. Leicester Housing Association purchased the building in 2009 for redevelopment. Now the new building contains accommodation for people over 55 who have care needs, of the 102 new homes on the site, 62 are dedicated extra care apartments, with an additional 40 affordable homes for rent and low-cost ownership. While most of the building was demolished a corner comprising of a six story wall topped with a large sandstone cameo of Cardinal Wolsey (after who the company was named) was retained and incorporated the construction. https://eflanalysis.com/news/leicester-city-enter-talks-to-appoint-manager-likened-to-carlo-ancelotti-as-danny-rohl-update-emerges/ Sheffield Wednesday expert compares Danny Rohl to Carlo Ancelotti In his two seasons at Sheffield Wednesday, Rohl has cemented himself as one of the best young managerial prospects in English football, after steering the Owls to safety in his first season in 2023/24. Despite the ongoing financial crisis at Sheffield Wednesday, Rohl stabilised the club to a comfortable mid-table finish this season, playing a brand of football that is both attractive to watch, but pragmatic enough to earn points. Rohl’s coaching acumen has seen Sheffield Wednesday expert, Alan Biggs, liken the German to Ancelotti. His point centres around Ancelotti’s lack of standout football philosophy, which Ancelotti has explained: “I don’t have a fixed style. My approach changes depending on the players I have and the opponent we face. Football is about decisions. If you’re too rigid with one way of playing, it makes it easier for the opposition to find solutions. In comparison, Biggs told the Sheffield Star: “If it’s good enough for Ancelotti, it’s certainly good enough for Danny Rohl as a key reason why for so long the discussion around Sheffield Wednesday has been play-offs with, at best, a mid-table squad. “You see managers routinely dropping into jobs spouting ‘their philosophy’ and a determination to bend their new team to it. Statistic Danny Rohl for Sheffield Wednesday Games in charge 89 Wins 34 Draws 19 Losses 36 Win rate 38% Danny Rohl’s record for Sheffield Wednesday since becoming manager in the 2023/24 Championship “The point is this is only possible if Plan A and all its parts is good enough to dominate most opponents regardless. “That is palpably not true of Wednesday and it’s only by running through the alphabet that Rohl has very skillfully enhanced the face value of his squad. “Clearly he’d prefer to be high pressing and threading passes from the keeper. But he’s buried his preferences, and you get the feeling that Ancelotti would be the first to applaud.” Whether Rohl goes on to better five-time Champions League winner Ancelotti remains to be seen, but what is far more certain is that the German is one of the best managers in the EFL, and one who can mastermind an automatic promotion for Leicester in the 2025/26 Championship if appointed.

Leicester and Coventry will receive around £3-4 million annually as their portion of the television deal - with additional earnings potentially available through facility fees of between £500k to £1.5m per match when their games are selected for live broadcast. International television rights also contribute another £1-2 million to each club's annual income as well, meaning the pair can expect to earn between £9.5 -12.5 million each from television revenue and related payments.

When I started work as an apprentice in manufacturing everyone assembling products had to record how long it took them to assemble even sub-assemblies. There was a dept. that had timed how long every task should take and people where paid a bonus if they performed better than the timed rate - they were constantly monitored. In fact the guy I was working with used to fiddle his times using my times by recording me taking longer adding some of his time to mine as apprentices couldn't earn bonuses.

A big part of our current problems is that we paid over the odds to hang on to Rodgers we should just have told him if you're not happy here on what we're paying you then goodbye. We would then have been in a fantastic position to sign a top rated manager. Managers and players moving on when you're successful and replenishing with fresh faces and hopefully better people should be our strategy. If Dyche comes in and gets us promoted, and it's no more guaranteed then any other manager we can hang on to him in the PL but history tells us we're likely to stagnate under him than progress upwards. So sacking is the most likely scenario and we'd more likely than not be hovering around the bottom of the PL at best, hardly an attraction for the best managers/players. Football progress is always a risk and not something to be scared of.

The gap keeps on getting wider How Club World Cup is paying for Man City and Chelsea's summer signings Manchester City and Chelsea are already quids in from playing in the Fifa Club World Cup - and they could yet end up earning loads more. Some of their summer signings' transfer fees have even already been paid off. With near-empty stadiums, extreme weather conditions and poor pitches dominating the news agenda during the group stages of the competition, it is easy to overlook just how much money clubs are earning as the tournament goes on. Some teams pocketed tens of millions just for qualifying. BBC Sport looks at how much you can earn at the Club World Cup - and how much the English teams have made already. How does the prize money work? If Manchester City win the tournament they would land about £92m in total - but Chelsea would earn slightly less. The potential prize money was initially reported as £97m but the exchange rate between US dollars and British pounds has changed since then. Teams get a participation fee for playing, which for European teams varies depending on "sporting and commercial criteria". City's fee is the maximum of £27.9m. Chelsea are on the upper end of the scale but do not get quite as much, BBC Sport has been told. Both teams qualified for the tournament by winning the Champions League in the past four seasons. Teams from North America, Africa, Asia and Oceania get just under £7m, with South American clubs landing about £11m. The prize money rises depending how far you go (regardless of which continent you are from). In the group stages, wins are worth almost £1.5m, with about £750,000 for a draw Reaching the last 16 earns clubs £5.5m The quarter-finals are worth £9.6m A semi-final spot lands teams another £15.3m Reaching the final and losing is £21.9m Winning the competition is worth £29.2m The total prize pot Fifa has offered is $1bn (£730m), which is believed to be a record amount.
