If this is to be his final season at the club, fan group Union FS are hoping to make sure he goes out with a celebration of his incredible career at the King Power Stadium, and with an acknowledgement from supporters of the joy he’s brought to them over the past 12 years. They’re in the process of organising a tifo for one of City’s remaining home matches, and have crowdfunded more £4,600 – surpassing their £3,000 target – to make it. However, they’re still waiting on confirmation from the club that it can go ahead. They said last week: “Thank you to everyone for the generous donations. There has been limited communication from LCFC so as of yet there is no confirmation of a date for the display to happen.”

That was Enzo Maresca’s message in his first pre-match press conference of the campaign, prior to the win over Coventry. “I feel no pressure,” he said. “The only pressure is to see the team improving. There is no pressure from the club saying: ‘We need to get promoted.’ Nobody said: ‘This is the only target we have.’” That kind of talk feels a world away now. Such are City’s concerns around the Profit and Sustainability regulations that failure to go up this season could see the team stripped back to its bare bones to avoid potential breaches in the future. But still, nobody from the hierarchy has emphasised to Maresca just how important ascent to the Premier League is. That’s not to say he doesn’t understand. “For sure I think the promotion can help the club in terms of the economic situation,” the manager said last week. “For sure we’re going to try to help the club to come back into the Premier League. “But they didn’t mention to me that we need to get promoted. But we can understand that, where we are now, we’re going to try to bring this club where it was last year. Hopefully we can do it.” City at least know that only their own form matters now, with the EFL unable to deduct points from them this season, even if an independent commission finds the club guilty of a Premier League financial regulations breach. Rather embarrassingly for the league, they had to admit they didn’t know their own rules last Friday and were forced to backtrack on EFL chief executive Trevor Birch’s plans to apply a Premier League sanction on City this term. Reacting to that news, Maresca said: “The statement was very good news for us. Hopefully now we can win the last four games, finish well, and reach our target.” Scouting changes as Southampton spotter recruited Not too long ago City were advertising for new scouts in their recruitment department and it seems there has been a reshuffle. Henry Brown, who has been a first-team technical scout at the club since 2019, has now stepped up to become lead UK scout. Meanwhile, the excellently-named Adam Fox has swapped his role as a technical scout to become the club’s senior emerging talent identifier for players aged 17 to 21. Elsewhere, a new face has been brought into the club. Last month, Peter Thompson joined City as a recruitment data scientist from promotion rivals Southampton. City’s head of recruitment Martyn Glover worked at the Saints before moving to the King Power Stadium. Vardy tifo planned to celebrate striker’s potential final season Jamie Vardy’s contract ends this summer and with City under an embargo amid financial concerns, it’s not yet clear if he will be offered an extension. If this is to be his final season at the club, fan group Union FS are hoping to make sure he goes out with a celebration of his incredible career at the King Power Stadium, and with an acknowledgement from supporters of the joy he’s brought to them over the past 12 years. The FA seem determined to create a PL clone of the Women's League. I'm waiting for the day when the women catch up financially enough for the Men's PL to extract the Womens from the control of the FA for themselves

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-68812527 Daventry Town Football Club's cashless goal disallowed by fans Published 17 hours ago By Martin Heath BBC News, Northamptonshire A football club has apologised and reversed a decision to go cashless after its fans rejected the move. Daventry Town FC said it regretted the fact that supporters were not consulted before the Northamptonshire club made the announcement. The ban on coins and notes was due to come into force at the Master Abrasives Stadium at the beginning of June. Some fans had threatened to boycott the ground unless there was a change of heart. Daventry Town was established in 1886 and the first team currently plays in the United Counties League Premier Division South. The club put out a statement on Tuesday to "inform supporters that the club will be become fully cashless across all areas of the stadium, including the turnstiles, from Saturday 1st June 2024". The club initially said everything at the stadium, including the turnstiles, would become cashless But there was an immediate backlash from fans on social media. One supporter posted: "Another place to avoid then. Nice ground, but like cash-on-the-day grounds." Another asked: "Is this a joke???!!! Cash is king!" One post said the move was "a wrong and selfish move. Plenty of people do not have access to contactless payments, esp the kids under 18". Daventry Town play in the United Counties League Premier Division South Three days later, the club issued a second statement, saying it "would like to apologise for the concerns caused to supporters by the recent announcement". It added that the proposal to go cashless was discussed and agreed by board members but acknowledged that "we should also have involved supporters to get their input". The statement said cash would still be accepted throughout the stadium but "card payments would be preferred if possible". Fans were quick to cheer the U-turn. The club did a U-turn and said it would carry on accepting cash, although cards were preferred One wrote: "It's worth praising those for speaking up but also the club for listening, apologising and wanting to learn." Another said: "When people stand united, good things happen." This weekend's game against Yaxley attracted 300 people, who watched Daventry lose 3-2.

Discussing Bundu’s winner, Dewsnip admitted to Sky Sports that the goal hero was not always as ruthless in front of goal as he proved against Leicester. He added: "We've seen the ball go over the stand, we've seen it go into the next field, and occasionally we seen that and it goes in. It was his night and he scored us a fantastic goal." Sounds like a relative of Daka

It's down to the members to determine the questions and to put that pressure on, the bigger the numbers the greater the pressure and influence. If those appointed to make the face to face contact don't satisfy you vote them out and stand in their place.

LCFC Statement – 21 March, 2024 & Related Views
davieG replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
https://www.lcfc.com/news/3963781/lcfc-statement?lang=en LCFC today releases the following statement. LCFC notes the publication today of the decision of the League Arbitration Panel (LAP). As the LAP decision records, the EFL wrote to the Premier League on 20 March 2024 (the day before the PL brought its PSR complaint against LCFC), stating that the EFL would ensure that any sanction imposed by a Premier League Disciplinary Commission against LCFC would take effect while LCFC was in the Championship, whilst also noting that any points deduction sought by the Premier League would need to be applied before 4 May 2024. However, after the Club challenged the EFL’s intention to act outside of its rules, the EFL subsequently unconditionally accepted that it does not in fact have any power, from any source, to impose a points deduction in the EFL which has been ordered by a Premier League Disciplinary Commission in relation to PSR. LCFC continues to try and co-operate constructively with both the Premier League and the EFL to reach a lawful resolution of any issues relating to PSR, in accordance with our consistent commitment that any charges against the Club should be properly and proportionately determined, in accordance with the applicable rules, by the right bodies, and at the right time -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
davieG replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Makes you ask the question why would the EFL want to do that? What is their justification / benefit? I can understand why the PL would want to as it means it's all done and dusted before/if we get promoted removing any issues for them. -

They've still got plenty of money to get back. It's also down to how well the are known abroad. I suspect Spurs is higher profile than WH or Villa as well. -

No real change then, you surely didn’t expect any. It’s all about keeping 6 richer than the rest to have a high profile in Europe which enables tv money income. -

I don’t believe they have any interest in levelling up they’re only thinking of stopping clubs going bust. Even debt doesn’t seem to bother them. -
https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-press-conference-live-9218190 On Thursday morning, Enzo Maresca will be speaking to the media about the game at Home Park. You can follow the blog below for live updates. He is due to take his seat at 10am... 10:45JORDAN BLACKWELL Maresca on dropped points, promotion, and end of the campaign Q: Plenty of teams dropping points? EM: “I watched some games this weekend and you can see all the clubs are tired because we are at the end of the season. It’s a normal situation. It’s just a matter of winning games.” Q: How to approach final five games? EM: “Now it’s a matter of balance if you win or lose. Hopefully we can be happy at the end of the season. In any moment, we can drop points. It doesn’t happen in football that you win all of the games. Winning 19 of 23 was not normal. It wasn’t the lack of performance, just the lack of results. The day we lost at Bristol, we could play better, but I don’t think we deserved to lose. We are happy in the place we are.” Maresca complains of playing away on Friday after away on Tuesday Q: Bouncing back from Millwall? “The last month, there is no time to focus on what happened in the last game. The message is always clear. There is no time to think. Let’s focus on the next one. Thanks to the organisation, we arrived back at 3am on Wednesday. Then we have to travel today and we have 5 hours back. I don’t think the organisation cares about healthy players.” Q: Concerned about the players? “Plymouth, the longest trip of the season. If they don’t perform, they are bad. They are not bad, they are human beings. We have played nearly 50 games. It’s not normal to play Tuesday night away and then Friday night away. We’ll try to be ready Friday night.” Q: Mean you have to make changes? “We’ll see. We have a session and we’ll see how they come back. Yesterday we didn’t do too much, just recovery. We’ll do the tactics tomorrow.” Missed chances over the past few losses a concern for Maresca? “Do you think Jamie Vardy wanted to miss chances against Bristol City? They want to score. No player wants to miss. But it happens.” Maresca on clean sheets after just two shut-outs in last 10 games “We have the second best defence and we were first for most of the season. We have the second best attack. We are not concerned. We conceded the goal and the one v one against Millwall. We created six or seven clear chances. Stephy, Kel, Pat, Abdul, Yunus. Sometimes you don’t score.” Maresca on injuries with updates on Souttar, McAteer and Cannon Q: Any fresh injuries? EM: “No. They are all back apart from Harry Souttar. Kasey had his first full session with us yesterday. He can be in the squad. Tom is fine. With Tom, I feel a bit how I felt like with Patson at the start of the season. I feel sad. He trains well every day. At other clubs, he would be a striker who could score goals. But we have so many strikers. He is a fantastic professional." Q: Braybrooke back. A boost? EM: “For sure, for him, for Will (Alves). But after long injuries, they need time to come back 100 per cent.”
