City were linked with a move for the 20-year-old when they were in the Premier League, but Huddersfield are now ready to sell their young prospect. He has already made 14 appearances in the Championship this season, having featured 20 times for the Terriers last term. The Mali under-23 international joined Huddersfield from AC Boulogne-Billancourt in 2019, and is highly regarded at the Yorkshire club. He has attracted interest from a host of clubs and looks certain to move on next month. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Leicester could make an offer for the midfielder next month. City failed in their attempts to sign a midfielder on deadline day in the summer, but it could now be second time lucky for Enzo "Huddersfield will cash in on midfielder Brahima Diarra in the window - with Championship interest," Nixon wrote on Patreon. "Diarra was linked with Leicester City when they were in the Premier League and they may return with an offer. "Terriers will sell Diarra rather than let his deal run down. Darren Moore is hoping for some early arrivals with his transfer team working on a surprise foreign capture."

Maybe because the 8's are doing there job properly, Ndidi made a big difference to Fatawu's play and KDH has been told to get in the box more and provide more assists. I presume working more with Vardy, the other 8 and the 2 wingers.

Another nice building goes, a shame they couldn't have found a solution which included it especially as they plan to fill the existing frontage with shops etc. -
Just as I always feared and why I've not been able to get fully behind it.
-
I'm sure also that whom your teammates are and their quality will affect your game. He's gone from playing with very good PL players to some half decent Championship players. Of course that doesn't excuse any underlying weaknesses but it makes it much more difficult to perform and learn in a losing environment.
-
With only one striker the misses are spread with the wings and 8s missing a lot.
-
My overall feeling from watching games is that it's our finishing that's letting us down and not solely lack of creation all though that could be better especially the defence splitting passes.

Leicester’s Grand Hotel set to return to its former glory as restoration work begins Shopfronts along Granby Street will also receive a facelift ByHannah RichardsonLocal Democracy Reporter 13:14, 5 DEC 2023 The Grand Hotel in Granby Street (Image: Google) Work to reinstate the “lost character” of Leicester’s Grand Hotel has begun. The hotel, on the corner of Granby Street and Belvoir Street, will be restored to its traditional appearance, with designs based on historic photographs of the building. Improvements will be made to the hotel’s entrance, with cleaning and repairs made to the oriel windows and balcony. Work to restore the existing canopy above the entrance is also planned. The Mercure group previously said it also intends to reinstate the original sign that hung over the hotel, while rolling shutters could be replaced with wrought iron gates. The return to the hotel’s traditional frontage will also include improvements to the shopfronts along Granby Street. READ MORE: Take two for bid to demolish Parcel Yard pub as councillors warned delay could jeopardise entire station revamp The shops will be transformed so their exteriors tie in with the historic redesign, with signs replaced, fronts painted black and stallrisers – the area between the bottom of the window and the pavement – changed to granite. Attached to the planning approval granted in May last year is the condition that the right to repaint the hotel’s exterior without needing permission be removed to guarantee it remains traditional. A grant of £700,000 has been awarded to Leicester City Council towards the cost of the restoration work from Heritage England’s High Street Heritage Action Zone funding which is intended for the restoration of historic buildings. The project is estimated to cost about £900,000 in total, with the hotel owners contributing £200,000 towards the project. Work is expected to last around five months. Deputy city mayor Adam Clarke, who leads on climate, culture and the economy, said: “The restoration of the Grand Hotel’s historic street-level frontages is good news for Granby Street and the city centre. An artists impression of how the street could look An artists impression of how the street could look (Image: Leicester City Council) “The Grand Hotel is a fine example of Leicester’s Victorian past and the city’s rich architectural heritage. It is a local landmark and has long been considered one of Leicester's most prestigious hotels. With the support of Historic England, this investment will help to restore the building to its former glory, create a much more attractive street scene, and make the area feel safer and more welcoming to all. “It will also build on recent work to improve routes along Granby Street and Belvoir Street, and will help further improve the look and feel of this important gateway into the city centre. “It’s important that we continue to invest in our historic city centre shopping streets to support local businesses, boost the city’s economy and create a place where many more people want to live, work and visit.” Andrew Pring, asset and investment director at Jupiter Hotels which owns the Mercure group, said: “We are pleased to be working with both Historic England and Leicester City Council to restore the façade of the hotel on Granby Street close to the original design. This will be the first stage of further significant investment in the hotel, with plans to upgrade the internal areas of the hotel in 2024.” Louise Brennan, Regional Director for the Midlands at Historic England, said: “This restoration work will be a welcome step in the revitalising of this wonderful area of Leicester. The Grand Hotel is a prestigious building, and we are looking forward to supporting the repair and refurbishment of its street-facing ground floor. Hopefully, this will encourage more people, both tourists and local residents, to step inside to see its fantastic interior and become part of this historic building’s future.” -
Former Leeds United and Leicester City defender Alan Sheehan has been named as the new Swansea City caretaker boss following the sacking of Michael Duff on Monday night. Duff had taken charge of the side during the summer and had a dismal start to the campaign, with the Welsh outfit sitting inside the relegation zone early into the season. However, a decent run of form saw the Swans get back into the mix for the playoffs.

Story of Leicester An old view across St Nicholas Street to Dryad Handicrafts and other shopfronts. Image from the Leicester & Leicestershire Record Office. In 1907 Harry Hardy Peach (1874–1936) founded Dryad Handicrafts, which made and sold cane furniture. Their showroom was at 42 St Nicholas Street, Leicester. In 1912 they started Dryad Metalworks, the same year the company made deck chairs for the ill-fated RMS Titanic. Both firms quickly became recognised for their use of good design and workmanship. During the First World War the company supplied cane to a local hospital, so that wounded soldiers could make baskets to help them recover both physically and mentally. Seeing the educational benefits, Dryad started selling cane and other craft materials for use in schools. Harry Peach was also a keen collector, and between 1907 and 1937 acquired nearly 3000 items of craftwork while travelling in Europe, Africa and Asia. The majority of his collections now forms The Dryad Collection at Leicester Museums and Galleries, with the finest examples of 20th century cane and basketwork in the UK. Back in August, Wanya Marcal and Ben Nelson were very much part of the first team too. Marcal played four games and was starting matches in the Championship, scoring in the win over Cardiff. Meanwhile, Nelson was finally given his debut in the Carabao Cup win at Tranmere. But they’ve not been seen since. Because of the signings of Yunus Akgun and Abdul Fatawu towards the end of the window, Marcal has not played since August, albeit he was an unused substitute for the recent matches against Sunderland, QPR, and Leeds. Nelson has not been in a matchday squad since the start of September. There must be thoughts, as January approaches, over whether their immediate and long-term futures are best served at City or out on loan. But Maresca has said there is no plan just yet, and suggested he would like to keep Nelson around so he can learn the City way. “They are all different cases,” Maresca said. “In the case of Wanya, he started with us, he played some games from the start and he did well. But it was also a part of the season where we didn’t have our wingers. You see him, he scored a goal, he did well. He played two or three games from the start. “I really like Ben, I think it’s really good for him to be around us. But he’s another young player who needs to be patient. We have Jannik (Vestergaard), Conor, Harry Souttar, we have him, we are using JJ (James Justin). At the moment, there is no plan for them. We’ll see.” -
We could then sell JJ.

https://sportwitness.co.uk/id-happy-stay-loanee-wants-permanent-transfer-leicester-city-different-feeling-club/ “I’d be happy to stay” – Loanee wants permanent transfer to Leicester City, has ‘different feeling’ at the club By Lucas Sposito -4th December 2023 Leicester City winger Issahaku Fatawu is this week featured in an interview with South African magazine Soccer Laduma. The 19-year-old, who’s loaned to the club by Sporting, had a long and interesting conversation about the Lions, the Foxes and the Ghanian national team. First speaking about his departure from the Lisbon side, Fatawu claimed that manager Ruben Amorim didn’t really have plans for him there, and that’s why he ended up at Leicester City last summer. “Yeah, that’s what I mean. It’s about how he wants me to play in relation to how he wants the team to play. I think what he wants from me now is to go somewhere to play more minutes and get better,” Fatawu told Soccer Laduma. The winger seems to be quite happy at Leicester City, though, feels comfortable at the club and is looking forward to staying there following potential promotion to the Premier League. “Yeah, Premier League is my dream league, so I’m hoping to play there and since arriving, Leicester has given me a different feeling. How the people here have been has given me more confidence to stay here. For me, I’d be happy to stay at Leicester because I know and believe in the team, that we will qualify for the Premier League, so I’ll be happy to stay here.” Since joining Leicester City, Fatawu has had two goals and one assist in 16 appearances. Sporting recently released a financial report with many details of their recent transfers. There, it was revealed that the Foxes paid €750k to sign the winger on a loan spell. At the end of the season, Leicester City will have the chance to sign him permanently for €17m. That clause becomes obligatory in case of promotion to the Premier League.

Your not trying hard enough Clean windows Using newspaper to clean windows works better than a cloth for preventing streaks. Pro tip: use a vinegar and water solution instead of a chemical cleaner. For more eco-conscious cleaning ideas, read this article. Seedling pot Layer several sheets of newspaper on top of each other and shape them into a makeshift container for germinating seedlings. The best part? The newspaper is compostable so you can plant the container straight into a larger pot or the ground. Barbecue cleaner Once you finish using the grill, allow it to cool a little while you soak the newspaper in water. Lay the sheets of paper over the grill and close the lid for an hour. Simply remove the paper and wipe the grill clean. Packing material Newspaper is a great substitute for bubble wrap. Wrap your fragile items individually and place them in a box. Fill the remaining space with crumpled paper. This idea also works with shredded paper. Firestarter Newspapers are great fire starters since they are thin. Use them to start a bonfire, grill, or campfire. Shape keeper Help maintain your shoes and bags’ shapes by stuffing them with crumpled newspaper whenever you are not using them. Ripen tomatoes Wrap green tomatoes in old newsprint, place them in a box, and cover with a lid. They will ripen into a bright red colour. Shoe deodorizer Newspapers are good deodorizers. Crumple them into balls and stuff them into smell shoes or anywhere with musty odours. Book cover Newspaper works just as well as store-bought covers for books. -
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/the-6-signings-leicester-city-made-ahead-of-their-premier-league-title-win-where-are-they-now/#christian-fuchs Entering the 2015-16 season, there was nothing expected of Leicester City. Having only escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth the year before, nobody could have foreseen their title win under Claudio Ranieri. Yet the club achieved the impossible by lifting the Premier League trophy, thanks in no small part to the signings they made in the summer window. Football League World looks at where those 2015 arrivals are now... 1 Christian Fuchs The Austrian full-back signed for the Foxes on a free transfer from Schalke and is fondly remembered by the King Power faithful - making more than 150 appearances over six seasons before joining Charlotte FC in 2021. Fuchs retired in January 2023 but has since become the club's assistant coach. 2 Robert Huth The German signed in a £3 million deal from Stoke City. Huth was a vital cog in their victorious season, as he featured in 35 of their 38 league fixtures, also chipping in with three goals. Huth called time on his playing career in 2018 and has since returned to the King Power as the club's loan manager. The three-time Premier League winner has also found a new passion for marathon running, having completed the Berlin Marathon in September 2023. 3 Shinji Okazaki The Japanese international was the most expensive Foxes addition that summer for a fee of £7 million from Mainz 05. Okazaki spent four seasons at the club, scoring 19 goals across 137 games in all competitions and earning cult hero status. After leaving the club, Okazaki played for the likes of Malaga and Huesca in Spain. The 37-year-old striker is still playing football with Belgian side Sint-Truiden after joining in the summer of 2022. He is currently contracted until the summer of 2024. 4 N'Golo Kanté The midfielder joined the club for a fee of £5.6 million, and he was worth every penny. Kanté was the diamond in the Leicester side that won the title and he's enjoyed an impressive career since leaving the Foxes. Kanté won the World Cup in 2018 with France and the Champions League with Chelsea three years later. He is now playing his football at Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia following the expiry of his Blues contract in the summer. 5 Yohan Benalouane Yohan Benalouane is one of the more underwhelming signings on this list. Having signed in a multi-million-pound deal from Serie A side Atalanta he would make only 29 appearances across his four years at the club. The Tunisian moved to Nottingham Forest in January 2019 and has been clubless since leaving Italian side Novara in the summer. He has now turned his attention to his venture with Blaise Matuidi, Origins Fund, which looks to invest in consumer technology companies. 6 Gökhan Inler Gokhan Inler joined from Napoli but spent just one season at the club and only played five times for the Foxes. He joined Besiktas in the summer of 2016 and, now 39, is back with the Turkish club after re-signing for them in the summer.
