Since the opening-day triumph over Coventry City, Enzo Maresca's side have locked a laser focus on the second tier's promotion places, losing just once all season in the league (W10 D0 L1). That's seen them also overcome Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, Rotherham United, Southampton, Norwich City, Bristol City, Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End and Stoke City. Never before has any City side over 139 years of history made such an impressive start. If the Foxes pick up a point or three at Swansea City after the international break, it'll also be the best start by any team in Championship history. Neil Warnock's Sheffield United side of 2005/06 were the last outfit to earn 30 points from a possible 33 at the outset of a second-tier term. LCFC MEN Video published 06 Aug 2023 Video duration 20:20 Leicester City 2 Coventry City 1 Extended highlights from King Power Stadium as Leicester City open their account in the Sky Bet Championship with a 2-1 win over Coventry City. John Dunn and Gerry Taggart on commentary. The Blades finished that season in second place, behind Reading, who accrued a record 106 points. The Foxes' strongest points tally was 2013/14's total of 102. Aside from this year, the next best opening to a league campaign in Leicester takes us back to 2002/03. Also recently relegated from the Premier League, Leicester were under the management of Micky Adams in their first year on Filbert Way. City picked up 26 points (W8, D2, L1) between a day-one success against Watford and a 1-0 victory vs. Wolves over an 11-game spell. Adams' Foxes ended up as runners-up that season, trailing only Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth. LCFC MEN Video published 15 Sep 2023 Video duration 18:03 Southampton 1 Leicester City 4 Enjoy extended highlights from Leicester City's 4-1 success at Southampton in the Sky Bet Championship. In 1899/00, on the other hand, back in the days of two points for a win, Leicester Fosse went 11 games unbeaten at the start of that campaign (W7, D4, L0), scooping 18 points - the equivalent of 25 points today. A fifth-place finish, though, prolonged their stay in the old Second Division into a seventh year - evidence that a positive start must be backed up over the whole season for it to end in glory. Incidentally, the Foxes have already this term matched their record run of consecutive away league wins (5), last achieved in the 2013/14 season, which ended in the Championship title under Nigel Pearson. LCFC MEN Video published 04 Oct 2023 Video duration 19:01 Leicester City 3 Preston North End 0 Extended highlights as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall nets a brace and Kelechi Iheanacho also scores in a 3-0 win over Preston North End on Wednesday. There's still some way for them to do likewise in the home stakes though. It's now three in a row at King Power Stadium, but it would take another 11 victories to surpass the 1906/07 term's incredible 13 home wins in succession. Three successive wins in the next three matches, on the other hand, will see Maresca's Leicester City equal a Club record nine consecutive league victories home and away, also achieved in 2013/14. There's a long way to go this season - 35 matches in all. The fixture schedule will bite at some point too and City will face challenges aplenty from their Championship rivals. The omens, though, at this early stage at least are promising as the Foxes fix their sights on promotion back to the top flight.

Did you know that in 1884 the first production standard electric car in the world capable of being reproduced and sold to the public was revealed? Did you know that by early 1900 1/3 of all vehicles on the road were electric? They started to disappear rapidly around 1920 with the introduction of gasoline by Henry Ford. Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of the eponymous sports car, produced an electric vehicle named the 'P' in 1898, before creating the world’s first hybrid offering, which was powered by both electricity and an internal combustion engine. So whats new that all the present generation of EV fanbois are harping about when some companies could make them way back in 1884. However, gasoline fired engines killed EVs from the face of America then! Mercedes-Benz also offered an electric model called the Mercedes Mixte, in 1906. This car was adopted as a taxi in the cities and even became a race car in 1907. Therefore, there's nothing so novel in EV.

Not surprising that both goals were from set pieces as neither side looked like they would scored from play even then they were both poor from a defensive perspective. Tough physical game, ref was subtly but MU biased. Thoroughly deserved the point Do we get a fine for 5 yellow cards

Couldn't find this anywhere and put it in the LCFC Forum as it's likely to have a big impact on us. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/africa-cup-nations-draw-details-8830033 When is the Africa Cup of Nations? The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations takes place (in 2024) from January 13 to February 11. The final will be played at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan. Which Leicester players could be involved? Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho are expected to be part of the Nigeria squad, while Patson Daka is set to feature for Zambia. And City loanee Abdul Fatawu could be in contention for Ghana. How many City games could they miss? They could miss up to six Championship fixtures, after the home game against Huddersfield Town on New Year's Day. They are Coventry (a), Ipswich (h), Swansea (h), Stoke (a), Watford (a) and Sheffield Wednesday (h), which takes place two days after the final. Of course, players could return to the club earlier, depending on how far they get in the tournament. How will Leicester cope? Losing midfielder Ndidi and striker Iheanacho for potentially five weeks, with a week of training expected before the tournament, will be a big blow to City. Striker Daka, meanwhile, is yet to feature in the league under Maresca. They will then just be left with three options for the two number eight spots in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Cesare Casadei and Dennis Praet, Up front they will only have Jamie Vardy and summer signing Tom Cannon, who is yet to make his debut as he recovers from a back injury. Fatawu has impressed so far on the wing, though City should be well covered if he is called up by Ghana. There are five other wingers available to Maresca in Stephy Mavididi, Yunus Akgun, Kasey McAteer, Wanya Marcal and Marc Albrighton. Draw details Ndidi and Iheanacho's Nigeria have been drawn in a group with host Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau. Daka's Zambia will take on World Cup semi-finalists Morocco, along with DR Congo and Tanzania. Fatawu's Ghana are in a group with seven-time winners Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique. Here is the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 draw in full: Group A: Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau. Group B: Egypt, Ghana, Cape Verde, Mozambique. Group C: Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea, The Gambia.

https://talksport.com/football/efl/1599954/ Leicester transformed as they top both Championship and WSL tables Uma Gurav 14th October 2023, 10:00 am After Leicester City narrowly escaped a double relegation last season, they now sit top of both the EFL and the WSL tables. Leicester City’s men were relegated from the Premier League last season despite their victory over West Ham on the final day. It was a disappointing result for a side that had secured a stunning Premier League title just seven years earlier in 2016. Just a day before their relegation, their female counterparts pulled off an unprecedented WSL comeback as they saved themselves from relegation in their final game with a victory over Brighton. But those difficult campaigns seem to have been left in the past and both teams have made quite the start to their respective new seasons. Since the start of the EFL season, Leicester’s men have only suffered one defeat when they were beaten at home 1-0 by Hull. Their most recent game saw them put three past Preston, as they cemented their place at the top of the EFL table. After interim boss Dean Smith managed just two wins in eight games to cement the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League, manager Enzo Maresca was appointed in June 2023 on a three-year-deal. Maresca is no stranger to success – he was Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach last season as Manchester City won an historic treble. But the Italian is cautiously optimistic that Leicester’s first season in the Championship in 10 years could turn out to be fantastic. Maresca told Leicester City’s official website after their win over Preston: “It’s still too early, but we are getting better against this type of team. It’s unbelievable, it’s huge. “It’s something that I said to the players, it’s not normal. But we are in the right way, heading in the right direction.” After the international break, Leicester’s men will resume their title campaign against Swansea City on Saturday 21 October. Meanwhile, Leicester Women are two wins from two in the WSL this season despite narrowly avoiding demotion last time out. They lost their first nine games under manager Lydia Bedford last season, before former Hibernian manager Willie Kirk was brought in to salvage their season – and salvage it he did. They picked up all 16 of their final points tally after the change of manager as Kirk spearheaded a remarkable transformation. They ended the WSL season third bottom of the league – a fantastic result given their dire start to their campaign. But while Leicester City’s WSL wins this season over newly-promoted Bristol City and struggling Everton are commendable, they are not quite exceptional. The real test begins on Sunday, October 15 when Leicester Women travel to Leigh Sports Village to face last season’s runners-up Manchester United. The Red Devils have won one and drawn one in the WSL so far, dropping points in their 2-2 draw to Arsenal when they conceded the equaliser in the third minute of injury. Victory over Leicester will be of the utmost importance to Manchester United if they wish to sustain their title challenge. But underdogs Leicester will go into the game feeling encouraged after they pulled off a shock 2-1 win over rising stars Liverpool in the Continental Tyres League Cup group opener. Midfielder Aimee Palmer scored the opener in their win over Liverpool and she said their recent winning streak was the perfect platform upon which to build their season. She told Leicester City’s official website: “We’re three from three now and we want to keep that going at the weekend. “We know that (Manchester United) are a good team, but equally we’ve proven that we’re a very good team, and the opposition will be afraid of us. “We’re looking forward to the match on Sunday and hopefully get three points there as well.” They have proven themselves capable of beating teams who finished well above them last season and, if they continue their recent spell of results, could find out that being involved in a title race is infinitely preferable to a relegation battle.

OS Four Foxes Feature On Friday's International Stage INTERNATIONALS Kelechi Iheanacho scored as Wilfred Ndidi also featured in Nigeria's draw while Wout Faes and Harry Souttar represented their countries on Friday evening. - Wilfred Ndidi started and captained Nigeria in 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia - Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to score at Estádio Municipal de Portimão - Harry Souttar started for Australia in their 1-0 loss to England at Wembley Stadium - Wout Faes started in Belgium's 3-2 win over Austria in the UEFA European Championship Qualifiers Friday's international fixtures kicked off at 5pm BST for the Foxes as Nigeria took on Saudi Arabia in a friendly at Estádio Municipal de Portimão. Midfielder Ndidi was named in the starting XI and was also given the captaincy, while Iheanacho, who has scored four goals this season in the Sky Bet Championship, came on in the second half. The deadlock was broken just before the forward's introduction in the 61st minute when Salman Al-Faraj of Al-Hilal opened the scoring, but 10 minutes later, Nigeria were back level when Abdulelah Al Amri turned the ball into his own net. On for the last half-an-hour, Iheanacho had an impressive cameo, scoring what looked to be a late winner. From the edge of the box, City's No.14 curled an impressive left-footed effort into the top left corner, but unfortunately for the Foxes involved in the match, Saudi Arabia equalised in the 10th minute of stoppage time to earn a draw. Friday evening saw two more Foxes involved for their country, as Faes was named for Belgium in their UEFA European Championship Qualifier against Austria, while Souttar lined up for the away side at Wembley Stadium, as Australia met England in a friendly. At Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Leopoldstadt, Austria, the Red Devils got off to a good start when Dodi Lukebakio opened the scoring just 12 minutes in, before the Sevilla forward doubled their lead 10 minutes from the break. Moments later, Romelu Lukaku handed them a comfortable lead, but the hosts would look to get back into the game with a late surge. Konrad Laimer prevented a clean sheet for Faes and his team-mates with a goal in the 73rd minute before Borussia Dortmund's Marcel Sabitzer converted a penalty with five minutes to go. This created some nerves for Belgium, but they held out for victory, claiming the points in Group F, taking their tally to 16; three above their opponents. In the capital, Souttar put in a valiant display as Australia were beaten 1-0 by England. A single goal from Ollie Watkins made the difference as he turned in a low effort towards goal from Manchester City's Jack Grealish. The towering centre-half will have the chance to represent the Socceroos once more during this international break, when they make the short journey across London to take on neighbouring country New Zealand at the home of Brentford, the G-tech Community Stadium on Tuesday evening.

By Kevin Peachey Cost of living correspondent Large numbers on an entirely redesigned set of UK coins will help children to identify figures and learn to count, The Royal Mint has said. The coins will enter circulation by the end of the year, marking the new reign of King Charles III and celebrating his love of the natural world. The tails side of every coin from the 1p to the £2 will feature the country's flora and fauna. Old coins can still be used, with the new set struck in response to demand. Rebecca Morgan, director at the Mint, told the BBC: "The large numbers will be very appealing to children who are learning to count and about the use of money. "Also the animals and everything you see on these coins will appeal to children. They are great conversation starters." Animals ranging from the red squirrel to the capercaillie grouse are depicted on the new designs. The King's now-familiar portrait will be on the front of each coin - many for the first time. Although cash use - and especially the popularity of coins - has been in decline in recent years, the Mint says heritage and need mean this change is still required. "We know a large proportion of the country are still heavily reliant on cash," Ms Morgan said. "It is also tradition to mark the moment of a monarch coming to the throne with a new set of coinage, so it is important that we carry on that tradition."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/leicester-city 'I loved every minute'published at 11:55 11:55 IMAGE SOURCE,GETTY IMAGES Former Leicester defender Paul Konchesky says he "always felt at home" during his time at the King Power Stadium. The left-back made 155 appearances in five years at the club, winning the Championship in 2014. "I always say Fulham and Leicester are the two best clubs I played for," Konchesky told BBC Radio Leicester's When You're Smiling Podcast. "I loved every minute, I always felt at home from top to bottom. "I loved working for the owners, the manager, supporters and the players I played with. I'm still in contact [with people at the club] now so that's how much it means to me." When asked about his favourite memory at the club, Kochesky said: "The goal at [Aston] Villa at home [in 2015]. I think that was the start of the run that kept us up and it's a local derby as well. It probably wasn't the greatest goal I scored, but it's one I remember because it put us on a run." Reflecting on missing out on the Foxes' title win while out on loan with QPR, Konchesky said: "All you want to do as you get older is play as many games as you can because it doesn't last forever. "When I sat down with the manager and he told me I won't play a much as I want to, I had a decision to make and I chose to go out on loan and play. I probably played 25 times that season, where I might not have played one game at Leicester which is upsetting, but I wanted to play as long as I could. "Was I gutted I wasn't there? Of course, but I still really feel a part of it even though I wasn't." Listen to the full episode here

A funny story re MrsG MrsG writes and produces a lot of songs not in professional mostly for her own pleasure and has a very eclectic range. She does collaborations with people from various countries. She posts them on various sites she's registered with and occasional Youtube where she has a few subscribers but not many and rarely gets a lot of views / likes, as I said she does it mainly for her own enjoyment. A guy in the USA wrote and produced a song about how badly he was treated and bullied by fellow pupils and teachers, rather sad really. Anyway MrsG decided to do a spoof of this and wrote a song which she called "Bend Over Boy". About a lady teacher who's a bit handy with a cane. In hindsight probably not the best title because she now has over 20000 views and is getting some very dodgy comments on the people that have viewed it So if you're looking for someone to spank you or provide related treatments ........
