  1. Ideally you'd have the whole end safe standing. But assuming only small areas will initially be introduced, I don't see how you could introduce it in one block and not the one next to it... Surely the standers would block the view of those sitting when the ball is on their side of the pitch?EDIT: not a structural engineer but I imagine if you wanted to introduce 1.5-1.8 people per current seating area we'd have to strengthen the suspension considerably... I would guess that would be easier to do lower down in the stand which means it's either view or atmosphere for bayfox
  2. The atmosphere throughout the ground would be a million times better if a safe standing area existed in the South Stand (perhaps lower half of the Kop with a gap so that those sitting in the upper section can be seated) and L1 joined those Kopites wishing to stand in the centre of the Kop. That number of singers congregated together would have a much greater influence on the ground's atmosphere than having two separate sections as we do at the moment.
  3. Even at 90% it surprises me how low that is. How can anyone be against providing a safe choice that eve fits everybody? Oh yeah, selfish ignorance. We're top at that in this country.
  4. Morons of the highest order. If they genuinely cared for football fans they would listen and see that there are advances in technology such that standing can actually make fans safer.
  5. Scottish scene taking a beating from the media up north... The state of this. 'One proposal would see the introduction of facial recognition software to identify trouble makers and create a database of supporters who should not be granted entrance to grounds across the country. If someone on the black list attempts to enter a stadium, an alert would be received allowing clubs to take action.'
  6. Some smart action in there. Swedish ultras are top.
  7. Not having the boos were for the ref or for Boruc. 90 minutes to do that. These were from the petulant, spoilt twats that claim to support Leicester. Don't people realise half our strength is the bond formed between players and fans? It is blatantly obvious the atmosphere has helped win games this year. I can't understand why people don't do their utmost to continue that form.
  8. Boos at the end aswell. Absolutely tragic.
  9. The irony here is brilliant. You are right of course but talking about pretentiousness and explaining where the word tifo comes from is pretty spectacular - no offence! Whilst we're on the subject I think choreography is a more apt word but tifo seems to have taken off.
  10. Don't get me wrong I appreciate that the owners have been great to date, but I don't think they should get a tifo for effectively not being cvnts. Kind of sums up the state of football that suggestion.
  11. Home games I would agree. But how can it possibly be an attractive fixture for away fans? No trains and a shit, lethargic atmosphere.
  12. Boxing Day and NYD football are shite for away fans. So much so I'm beginning to side with winter break squad covering this period aswell (I already think we should have one after 3rd round of FA Cup).
  13. Excluding numbers-perspective, our away support is one of the worst in the Prem for many reasons.
  14. Thought that had been removed? See photo has changed now too! http://www.unionfs.co.uk/about-ufs.html
  15. Oh my god I can't work out who I find more amusing... that United fan who thinks they're a big club because of anything more than circumstance and accuses all other clubs of being freeloaders or that Palace fan who said we were 'Championship divs' despite spending only 52 years of their miserable Southern League history in the top two tiers. Not quite 130 is it lads.
  16. Win yesterday means we have gone 9 months without an away defeat. That is obscene.
  17. Who said it was quality?

  19. No flies on you is there Steve?
  20. This is exactly it. A pragmatic approach - even if sad that it comes to it - to stop non-hooligans getting hurt.
  21. Hence the sly pricks comment. Not sure why anyone else is bothered by that given it's a Union FS issue and they brushed it off within minutes. If you can't recognise that the Holmesdale Fanatics have single-handedly revitalised a whole ground, put on some great tifo displays and have had a huge influence in the success of Crystal Palace over the past few seasons you are either deluded, ignorant or blind. I find it sad people are so embarrassingly biased towards our own support (even if I do think we have the best home fans now...) that they can't recognise that other teams have decent support too.
  22. But they are ultras, maybe different to the neo-nazi hooligans in Poland or the stabby cvnts at Napoli but they have dedicated themselves to supporting Palace in their own way for the last ten years. Understand and appreciate the mentality or not, they are ultras. Still sly pricks, mind.
  23. Appreciate Palace fans are a load of jebends but tbf there are no '14 year old ultras' there. Their group is now 10 years old so I would imagine they are mostly late 20s/early 30s by now.
