The focus on OCGs is huge, both in public and what the police are focusing on. Plays a significant part in County Lines and the more that's brought to light the better. Ruins not only the child's life but the families they're part of.
It's massive, constant focus and has a huge impact on society so I do believe it is reported more. Not only to show that that's what they're tasked to do and focus on, but the fact is to raise awareness and make people realise this shit is happening on our doorstep. So to help identify the signs and report it earlier before it's too late.
It's obviously terrible and horrific as to the scale it happens, but the more it's reported the better because it does highlight it. Agree it's not comforting in the slightest, and why should it be, but that's the truth of life these days.
