Him and Faes both lost their heads at different points in the game. Confidence absolutely shot now for him. I guess many of the best would struggle having to play with Faes next to you. There's only one player that could do the job of two and that was Kante. Okoli's lack of pace took me by surprise too. I always thought he was quite pacy but yesterday highlighted how easy it was to get in behind and almost have a clear run at goal. He's not quite the clown or car crash that Faes is, but he's started his journey towards it...

It's that fact that we're not very competitive any more. The quality of some opposition has got better. But then you look at Man Utd and Spurs who are significantly worse than say 4 or 5 years ago. It's no excuse to be in the position we're in. We don't even get the basics right.

I can't remember which goal it was last night (their 4th?) but he lost a 50/50 which I think he could have been stronger in. He's on that downward curve again. When we're playing poorly, or backs against the wall, he's not really anywhere to be seen.

There was a period in the 2nd half where I was watching him for a few minutes. Ball was in and around our box. He was walking. No pressure on the ball or opposition. Losing his man. Literally just walking about watching the ball as it was passed around or up in the air.

I wouldn't say he squared up to him. Clearly some words exchanged as he stood about 10 yards away. Give it a bit more time and without players stopping him, they probably would have fought. The whole thing reminded me of Ndidi and Ward at Brighton 3 years ago.

Even before this game I think Afghanistan were being overrated. They're good, but they still lack tournament experience. Especially when other teams are regaining strength. I think they'll finish bottom of their group.

New Zealand are always strong in tournaments. The PSL T20 wasn't too long ago. Interesting to see how players who played in that fare in this tournament.
