  1. Google's AI summary: Gary Rowett is an experienced Championship manager known for organizing solid defensive structures, building competitive teams, and emphasizing high-energy, hard-working performances. Often viewed as a, practical "fixer" or "firefighter" manager, he adapts his systems to fit existing player capabilities rather than enforcing a rigid philosophy, commonly targeting top-six challenges or stabilizing clubs. Key aspects of Gary Rowett's management style include: Defensive Organization: Teams under Rowett are typically well-organized, with a notable ability to secure clean sheets and create a hard-to-beat reputation. Adaptability: He tailors his tactics to the squad's strengths, prioritizing effective, direct, and pragmatic football to secure results, especially when taking over mid-season. Championship Expertise: With over 400 games in the second tier, he has managed clubs like Birmingham, Derby, Stoke, Millwall, and Oxford. High Work Ethic: He demands high levels of commitment, drive, and honesty from players, focusing on team spirit. Motivational Focus: He approaches management as a, "sales job" that requires convincing players to believe in his methods and feel motivated. His tenure often brings immediate structure to struggling teams, but he has sometimes faced challenges in maintaining long-term, top-tier promotion momentum.
  2. Rowett's profile on Transfermarkt Preferred formation is 4-2-3-1 (obviously)
  3. Quite obviously not that straightforward. Dyche probably never entertained an offer from us.
  4. Doesn't matter. What other club takes 3-4 weeks to hire an interim or permanent manager after sacking the previous one, mid-season? Just further emphasises the club have no plan and they're just seemingly winging it. In saying that, I'm actually satisfied we've hired someone that may actually kick some of these players arses and demand 100%. Rowett doesn't strike me as someone to take any shit and he will happily put himself about if standards aren't high or maintained. I've got some level of confidence (a couple of iotas now...) that we can be somewhat competitive and actually have some organisation about us. It may not be perfect but at least we have something to get behind. I'm not so underwhelmed as others because it was never going to be anyone special in our predicament Top and Co have put us in. It's something, and that's what I'll cling on to!
  5. Should never have taken this long.
  6. SL got pumped first 8/9 overs. Excellent recovery from them so far.
  7. Danny Simpson doesn't get it. He's seen the headline, probably not even listened to the whole well-articulated points put across. He can't see it.
  8. You'd fit right in to the club then
  9. Wow. 3 6s in a row off Rashid. 30 off 12 needed...
  10. Inspired batting by Italy but they don't bat deep enough. England should skittle them out below 175.
  11. Look at what they'd be stepping into though. How many positions are currently vacant around/above them? I wonder if they're applying, then realising just how much of a shitshow it is behind the scenes, then walking away from it.
  12. And this is exactly what Rudkin and Top are hinging everything on. Let King be the fall guy and let him take the flak. They think it diverts attention away from themselves but not all the fans are stupid. Some are, mostly the KPFC in bunch. Everyone else can see the wood for the trees...
  13. I just cannot comprehend how it takes so long to get a manager. Even if it's an interim. Aside from the obvious as to who they'd be working for (Rudkin or vacant positions) I can only think that managers elsewhere (in post or not) are veering away from the job because there's no money, no structure, no security about the job. It's a stark reality of where the club find themselves. Struggling to hire a manager to get us out of this hole. Top sacks Rudkin and I bet there'd be some short term gains in terms of personnel and good fortunes.
  14. Curran could have gone to about 40-50 easily. Swiped at a shot that was there for the taking. It's poor all round from England considering the opposition, no disrespect to Italy!
  15. That's a phenomenal catch to get Salt out.
  16. Good finish in the Afghanistan vs UAE game.
  17. @Les-TA-Jon your time to shine again
  18. Not judging by their first couple of overs
  19. Ref giving this as a penalty yesterday 😂 😂 😂
  20. I don't know where my relegation thread went but when does everyone think we'll be relegated, if not on the final day of the season?
  21. It's absolutely criminal he's continuing to be hung out to dry by Top and Rudkin, regardless of his legendary status as a player. They're tarnishing his legacy. If I was King I'd leave until there's an iota of decency about the club again.
  22. Yep. Could carry on in extra time or go to penalties!
  23. yes 2-1 at home 1-0 away 2-0 away in first round of FA Cup.
