It's my birthday today so had a quiet day/ night as most things close early. Wife baked a cake (yet to cut) and we ordered indian food as she was feeling something spicey as was i and we didn't feel like cooking. Looks like she took a turn for the worse before dinner and i think our xmas plans might be in disarray for tomorrow. We are going to her parents but bringing all the groceries to cook....if she's sick then i might have to drive, drop off uncooked stuff and come back home As i wouldnt want to make anyone sick. Solid 1.5 hour journey there and back. Hopefully it's nothing but she has a sore throat and is wiped out, not looking good bruv! Least i get cake in the next hour! Woooooo!

Two kinds of chickpea (cholay) curries. Green (mung bean daal), aloo parantha (trini flour but punjabi style filling) and a bit of corned beef curry . Dont mind the table, bloody kids didnt wipe it down before dinner. And yes, black label lol.

Again, you can look at others and compare with what you prefer I am biased in thinking indian food ia best but i love my fish and chips, pies, never had your braised cabbage though (or whatever you call it lol). Lol best option is to youtube it. Everyones indian food taste bud is different but some good videos out there that will help. I don't really have recipes as such more so averages per weight so i know portion sizes etc. I am just that good at cookin. My wife says my "hand" with making curries is better than hers haha. Sounds like some BS doesnt it? Seeing as you like cabbage so much, check out this trini guys cookin channel. He actually lives in my old Canadian hometown and has some decent recipes to try. Trini curry is very similar but also very different at times to what i grew up on. My grannie used to make the beat cabbage sabji but insaw this guy made one. Check out some of his recipes. I have never tried any a smy wife cooks trini food but thr concepts are there.
