Kasey McAteer sold to Ipswich - Official
fleckneymike replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think he’ll score goals and contribute well. He’s a good pro who does exactly as directed and that 12m fee is fair. I don’t think he fits long term into what we ‘think’ we want to do. He’s not a winger like Mavididi or Fatawu who will commit and take people on so looks less eye catching but I think his off the ball running and timing of runs has always been excellent. -
He was dreadful. Amazed he avoided a booking; he just ran into people. He’s what you’d expect from a 1.5m player.
-
For all his failings that goal is not his fault. the cross needs stopping at source. A foul. A block. Some mild pressure on the player would do it.

Choudhury (Wrexham interest, Football League World)

No. That’s not what I said. -

I believe he is. As a destroyer he’s very competent at this level. I’d go so far as to say that of all our midfielders he’s the only one in the past two seasons to not bottle a tackle (with the exception of KDH). I wouldn’t trust any of the current midfield to win a 50/50 or even a 70/30. That’s not necessarily a reason to keep him but more of a damining indictment of the rest. -

He’s a good championship level player but not irreplaceable. our issue will always be the terrible recruitment we’ve done means whilst it’s possible to replace him it’s highly unlikely that we will do so effectively -
From his fleeting appearances he’s very enthusiastic but not very good. His home debut was hilarious with him crashing into all and sundry before being hooked at half time. I’m not sure he fits into the new system (not that he fitted the old one)
-
Very replaceable. Has no one defining characteristic / ability as a CB that makes him integral to the side.
-
Twice.
-
Do you know how niche your qualifying criteria is? Can you name how many times in the history of the club we’ve been relegated, promoted, relegated in three seasons?
-
To repraat: So he’s the worst CB ever to have played for Leicester in two relegations with big curly hair from Belgium named Wout. Got it.

Again, that’s not what you said. You said he’s the worst CB we’ve ever had. My argument is simply he’s not the worst CB we’ve ever had. Now you’ve changed the argument to a niche ‘three season’ caveat. Why not just add in with big curly hair and from Belgium to your qualifying criteria?
-
No I didn’t. Even if I had, your example still has no relevance to your statement that he is our ‘worst CB ever’
-
What on earth does that have to do with Wout being ‘the worst CB ever’?
-
But that doesn’t make him the worst. Much in the same way Luke Thomas isn’t our greatest left back because he played in the Cup final
-
You’re clearly not part of the body language expert group
-
? so he’s not the worst defender, he’s just a not very good one.
-
He’s not even close to being the worse CB in our history
-
The most galling thing is we sold KDH for £30m and spent £25m on Skipp. That’s what makes the signing even more painful. We lost a dynamic attacking midfielder with goals and assist and signed an inferior player for a position we already had ample cover for. Who was worse than every other midfielder we had.
-
I don’t think either winger was helped by our baffling circle formation in the first half. Marti might have to reconsider his approach to having no overlapping full backs
-
He’s not very good but thinks he’s great. Depressingly he’s still a better defender than all the others.
-
Utterly inept. No real strength in-spite of his size. Weak in the air. Painfully slow to pass the ball. Positionally a liability. Can’t read the game.
-
No. He cost £8m more
-
Still infinitely better than Okoli.
