MC Prussian Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 Who'd turn down a chance to play for Leicester? I say we offer 2m to unsettle him Aahh, the Okazaki Kamikaze approach!
LAprice_ Posted 15 May 2015 Posted 15 May 2015 Serious question: Why are people so against Paul Konchesky? He's the most experienced Premier League left-back in the league. He may not be the same player he once was but judging by this thread, you'd assume he scores own goals for fun every week. As a back-up left-back, he's not the disaster that so many people make out. Yeah, sure we'll probably invest in that area in the summer but I'd like to think that we can remember Konchesky as the decent pro that he is and not single him out for everything. On a side note, I'd also argue that Schlupp is massively underrated, therefore making any other left-back appear less adequate.

He is a disaster waiting to happen. He repeatedly gets skinned for pace to the point where he is targeted specifically as a weakness by opposition managers. Not just that, so many times this season, I've seen him receive the ball with plenty of time and space yet he will either panic, or try to play his way out of trouble and end up losing the ball or booting it upfield which invites pressure on an already struggling team. He had two and a half very good seasons for us and we shouldn't forget that but he should have been moved on last season. I know he took a pay cut but he is probably still earning too much for what he brings to the team. He hasn't directly at fault for too many goals this season but I'd say that he's been indirectly responsible for quite a few. He's obviously a good professional and he has been good for us in previous seasons but no way should we be in a position where someone that far over the hill is still a regular for us in the Premier League.
The_77 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 We don't even play a left back Everyone please read the above post. What team have you all been watching? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LCCFox96 Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 They guy has barely played lately. We have him now; we don't necessarily need to replace him when he goes. Attempting a new Premier League season (hopefully) with one left back, Jeff Schlupp who has at the tender age of 22 played striker, left wing and left back, is the mark of a very brave manager. Some might even say foolish. If Konchesky is released we categorically DO need to replace him. We would be leaving ourselves very thin on the ground if we don't.
