Guest kristianity77 Posted 18 August 2015 Posted 18 August 2015 Not sure that's necessarily true. Regardless of ticket prices there will always be a certain amount of expectation on clubs. When we went down to league 1 would it have mattered if we had been paying a fiver? I'd still be equally as gutted and equally as likely to boo. The amount of money will never equal the emotions I feel watching Leicester. I think the money plays a huge part. If you could go to any game each week for free, why would anyone boo if we lost? You'll always get the idiots granted, but it would be substantially less. To me, its everything to do with the money. Football these days is a complete rip off for the supporter, so its understandable (if not helpful for the team in question) for fans to have a shorter fuse regarding performances and effort.
Dan Posted 18 August 2015 Posted 18 August 2015 Prices won't ever change though will they? I know some clubs do their best to drop prices for people but not enough. Fans will pay the prices as well, look how much of a joke it was for you Leicester fans this weekend at West Ham.. £25 wasn't it last season? Sold out. West Ham put it up to £45 this season and the same thing happens, Leicester sell out. Credit that you have such a good following away from home, but is that going to be your own downfall? Clubs can now charge the top prices because they know you will sell out. Liverpool obviously did that at Hull away last season but unless you do it for 5 away games in a row, then I can't see how doing it on a Tuesday night at the end of the season will do anything to change the prices. Pretty much spot on. It'd never happen in Germany but that's because they're more organised as fanbases. In England there are groups but they aren't big enough to have any kind of dominance. The prices will never properly be tackled until there are. Didn't Man City charge West Brom something like £55 for a Monday night game a few years ago? WBA had nothing to play for and they still took 500. The pricing and the extortion of it creates a mindset of wanting more from it, hence even bigger frustration in my opinion.
C-man Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Not sure how much relevance ticket prices have. I'm sure we had a game the other year against Barnsley which was like a tenner/kids for a quid, we got beat and booed off. For me it's just an excuse for the mindless who don't understand what supporting a football team is. Same goes for 'I've paid my money, I can do what I want'. Load of shit. If these people made the same level of noise during the game in support of the team, I would kind of accept it. But in general it's the first sound they've made since 3pm. For me, booing is unacceptable unless a) the players put in a lower than expected level of effort (e.g. Sunderland), b) the board are making a total pig's ear of things (e.g. Blackpool and countless others) or c) you get tanked by a local rival (e.g. Forest 5-1 was a great excuse to stay behind and swear at Wayne Brown, the cvnt.).
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 'I've paid my money, I can do what I want'. Thank **** someone has said this, up there with 'lazy journalism' in terms of phrases that boil my piss
Freesolo Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 The only time i seen Leicester Booing was when MON was on the brink of losing his job, we played Sheff Utd at home and it is the worst performance i had ever seen by any side from Leicester The players didn't give a ****! they where just hoofing it up the field giving the ball away it was obvious something was off with the whole team not trying. Half the KOP stayed behind after the game singing "MON **** Off" He kept his job and the rest is history
Dan Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 We've booed absolutely loads of times. Even when we were around the top two in the Championship if we went in at half time not winning there'd be a few boos. Embarrassing.
Carl the Llama Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 It also exists because some of these so called cvnts are on the pitch. Booing is sometimes unfair but you can hardly blame Sunderland fans, for example. They've been an absolute disgrace so far and the effort some players are putting in (Patrick Van Aanholt a major culprit) is unacceptable. They've lost 2 matches. Yeah they look doggo, but the fans need to at least make an effort to support them (which requires far less exertion than actually playing) before moaning that the players aren't making the effort the fans deserve.
